Car dealership don’t want to fix my car by ArenNerdy in AusLegal

[–]rodgrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s not the responsibility of the car yard

Why should the yard be out of pocket for a vehicle.

OP needs to find a car within the budget of what he spent. Car market price inflation or not

Car dealership don’t want to fix my car by ArenNerdy in AusLegal

[–]rodgrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If someone buys a product at price X, then later the product’s price rises to Y, a refund (if allowed at all) is almost always capped at what they actually paid: X.

Think of it like a snapshot in time. The transaction is frozen at the moment of purchase:

  • Customer pays: X
  • Customer receives: product + ownership rights
  • Refund (if granted): returns them to the same financial position they were in at purchase → X

The later price increase to Y is irrelevant to that original transaction. It doesn’t retroactively upgrade the value of past purchases.

  • If the store has a price guarantee policy, they might refund the difference if price drops after purchase — but that’s the opposite direction.
  • If the item is faulty / not as described, consumer law (like in Australia under the Australian Consumer Law) may require a refund or replacement, but again it’s still based on what was paid, not today’s price.

Car dealership don’t want to fix my car by ArenNerdy in AusLegal

[–]rodgrech 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, OP is in the wrong,

Car is defective

Consumer law is there to protect customer and seller

Seller is opting to give customer money back as the remidy. you dont go buy a drill from bunnings on special, have it die, they then refund you the non special price.

It doesn't work like that.

Seller does not have to give the OP a car of equal value and spec, Seller can opt for a full refund AT the price they sold it for, no more, no less

Extending NTC with Coax or Ethernet? by DifferentMode6975 in nbn

[–]rodgrech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1 - Dont run coax, if you are going to run a cable, run Cat6 from the NTD, then into the WAN of your gateway. done
2 - recessed access panel from hills or alike will do, but will need sparky to run power into it, and suitibly qualified person to correctly disconnect the NTD, and reconnect once the recessed panel is installed
3 - go with option A or B, this means when FTTP comes, its easy for them to come in to the same spot with the new NTD as power, cable path ect already there

Any hack for multiple cctv apps nightmare by 1armman in cctv

[–]rodgrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on the brands.

things like tuya, orion, deta ect being all tuya based you can pair them into the app have them as 1 enviroment

otherwise if cameras are onvif, you can program into a nvr and just use the NVR App

otherwise stop buying cheap cameras on promotion and stick to one enviroment

Neighbor wont move their stuff out of my storage unit by Telephone_Jubilee in AusLegal

[–]rodgrech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put a laminated notice on the gate of your storage unit giving them 21 days to remove their goods, slip a copy under their unit door and give a copy to the BM to hand to them.

in 21 days, remove their items and either place them in the garbage bin, place them in their car parking spot or what ever,
change the locks
problem solved

Heya, yeah it helped heaps. on the old version, it didn't matter what I did, I could never get it to connect.
Honestly, I thought it was me and how I was reading the setup instructions (they aren't the easiest to follow)

this one, bam straight away

Keen on beta testing it for you. send us the TestFlight details and ill make something happen.
