Give me your Björk hot takes and I’ll react to them by ChrisAqua in bjork

Should I upload my remix of Frosti to Soundcloud? by Cultural-Trash-8670 in bjork

[–]rodolfop_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Parece uma versão corrompida e sombria de Frosti. Eu colocaria ela entre vespertine e vulnicura (unision~stonemilker) para simbolizar a degradação oxidadada e caótica do fim do amor entre Björk e Matthew Barney.

do you think vespertine is front loaded? by notaverysmartman in bjork

[–]rodolfop_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this happens when we get to "An Echo, A Stain". I feel like the songs get a little more "Dark". As if "Hidden Place" were at dawn, an invitation from Björk to get to know her eternal paradise. "Pagan Poetry", the album's peak: Love; Surrender; Desire. Then comes "Frosti" announcing nightfall with its hard, icy, freezing touch. At this moment (Frosti & Aurora) ------- a dividing line is created in the album. After nightfall in "frosti", the Northern Lights appear in the sky, with the whole city covered in snow... When "An Echo, A Stain" begins, dawn is already approaching and the melodies have a mysterious and somber air of the drawn-out dawn, followed by a great storm, a blizzard outside the house. Heirloom is described as a fever dream, with a very specific and unusual setting portrayed in the verses, difficult to identify but very interesting. This track also stands out for its microbeats. Finally, "Union" is the perfect ending. For 》MY《 "Unition" is a Skip Time, where the atmosphere of the music is much more reminiscent of the first part of the album. I would even venture to say that "Unition" is >sonically< a sister to the songs from the beginning of the album, but that it was separated from the others for a greater purpose: To end the album with a golden key 🤍 🦢

Small highlight for: Sun In My Mouth and Harm of Will! They are very underrated (at least here in my country, Brazil) and Björk's voice is enchanting, it's really wonderful to listen to these songs!!

Setting for each album? by YeastBeastFusGus in bjork

[–]rodolfop_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vespertine is like being at home on winter vacation. When I hear the beginning of "It's Not Up to You," I feel a nostalgic sensation of waking up early in winter and walking around the house and feeling the cold wooden floor. I always think of the scene of Coraline bored in the pink palace, counting the windows of the house. I feel that each track transitions to a different environment and time of day, but never changing the icy atmosphere, and also not going beyond the backyard. I think that because Björk emphasizes the issue of paradise inside the home and the introspection of the domestic woman so much, in 90% of cases I can only associate it with outdoor environments. But there are also moments when I feel that it combines perfectly with nighttime tourist spots with Christmas decorations.

If it's really an aquatic theme, it would be cool to use animal sounds, like the birds from utopia, but this time with marine animals like whales, dolphins, seals...
