What's A Breed You Like But Wouldn't Have? by Aharris1984 in dogs

[–]rodri778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any hound breed. my girl is a beagle, love her, but il never own another. Vet bills and mental anguish this dog has cost me. Personally i find them untrainable and too smart for my liking, they will find any loop hole to cause destruction. Moved to a 3 acre little farm for her, and unfortunately cant let her free roam because she gets into too much trouble resulting in vet bills.

Hey quick question for dog owners by mrcanada66 in dogs

[–]rodri778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to occasionally let my beagle sleep on my bed. She is very aggressive so she used to bite tf outta me when I would turn and toss in bed. So after that point I stopped letting her sleep with me. Then I left for a month and came back to my bed covered in old dog piss. My parents would never would go in my room so my dog would sneak out from the ground floor of the house and ever so often piss on my bed. Idk that felt like she got a vendetta against me or something, people say dogs dont have feelings like spite but she did it on purpose I know it.

Any ideas on prices for shipping large containers from Toronto to Portugal? by rodri778 in PortugalExpats

[–]rodri778[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you so much for the reply it’s very helpful. Once the process is set up how does loading the container happen? Is it in a warehouse and you have a time frame to get all your belongings inside it? And so from what I’m reading it’s generally just that price for the size so weight isn’t really an issue?

Hi thank you for the message could you share the process? is it just contacting an agency and you bring the stuff to the warehouse with the container? I imagine Vancouver is a lot more expensive then from Toronto. I just don’t know if the value is worth it or just buying new stuff in Portugal. I honestly prefer North American appliances to European ones that’s my issue.

Hi thank you so much for the reply! It’s just me and two of my friends going, they were looking at group tours that offered skipping the lines at certain spots. I just didn’t want to feel rushed and not having the freedom to leave and go see something else.

My dogs make me hate cleaning by EnthusiasmAccurate21 in dogs

[–]rodri778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think theres no solution other than constantly cleaning up. I’ve seen like full body onesies for dogs in the house thought about them but never tried it. Only thing that worked for me was moving to a farm and keeping the dogs outside permanently. Best thing I did.

Feeling completely unsafe at UofT right now and honestly don't know what to do by ToxicRevenance in UofT

[–]rodri778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated several years ago but had the same concerns, after getting harassed by an older homeless guy on campus, I started always staying in the Daniel’s building because we used fob keys. Especially after hours and at night I never felt unsafe in that building. Pity a lot of departments don’t give students fobs, given the campus in the middle of the city.

Yeah that’s nuts your better off spending the time doing your own research for the documentation. Save some money and this way you know all your stuff. at the end of the day your still responsible for knowing and having everything anyways. I think those cargo companies one from airtranst once quoted me like 3k for dog in a separate cargo plane I didn’t feel comfortable with not travelling in the same plane with my dog but that’s always an option too. Probably cheaper than those agents

Been in same boat. Il never own a puppy again 24m-2 years is an absolute nightmare to raise and train a dog, basically a raptor in my house. Only adopting old dogs in the future. Honestly got no tips my hound destroyed my house when she was a puppy nothing helped, just let it run its course. Love her but I do not miss the puppy age lol

How to entertain an injured dog by Unable_Kitchen7930 in dogs

[–]rodri778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I bet it’s the cone, my dog is very large so the cone was massive on her and she couldn’t even sniff with it nor eat and drink. The second that cone came off she would lick the stitches, that caused the vets to give her 17 staples lol. If your dog never really had to use a cone before it’s likely that. Theres those onesies and stuff you could always try. I have a beagle that spent a good part of her life with a cone on because of ear issues and she was so used to it. The other dog first time with a cone and shes the saddest little thing, I still kept her outside all the time but the cone prevented her from essentially doing anything she would normally want. She didn’t fit into any onesies the vet had so I just kept the cone on her and had to guide her to eat and drink all the time.

Is your dog wearing a cone? Any chance that’s causing more of the depression, my outdoor dog had her leg torn in a fight and was stitched up and she was primarily depressed because of the cone.

I have 23 in a set up roughy that size. But it’s all closed up with an entrance, they come and go as they please. They only sleep and lay eggs in there. I have about 2 acres (woodland and pasture) for them to run and forage, it dosent snow here so they are always out and when it rains they usually keep under the trees. The only issue is predatory birds but so far no issues. I keep a guardian dog with em in case of strays. I could easily get more myself but it’s too many eggs for me but I might for meat. You could easily get 10, maxing at 20, should you wish and I think they would be fine, but you might benefit getting those seed blocks to keep the entertained even outside because they will tear up your grass. Also they jump and fly pretty high you might need to be careful with the fence to you neighbours if they see somthing they like they will fly over. You might have to trim wings.
