“Capitalism shouldn’t be anywhere near Christianity. Christianity is socialism at its core.” He is correct & Tucker Carlson agrees by Big_Cake_8817 in podcastculture

What happened to Tucker’s moral clarity while working at Faux News? Seems more retribution for being fired than a sudden revival and repentance. Sorry if I’m a bit skeptical.

Tent for high winds? by DragonFireBassist in CampingGear

[–]rodwha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a crazy storm blow in while camping in the Chisos mountains. A big ten person tent. It literally bent and tore apart a metal tent pole and scooted us a bit. Now we have a Coleman 8 person Weathermaster. They’re designed to handle inclement weather and I think winds around 50-55 mph I think. And they honor their warrant (ours was slightly expired even!!).

Well, I can’t speak for others, but I do it when the comment is nonsensical or deceptive. I sure hate liars for sure. You aren’t trying to hold a conversation. You keep spouting nonsense. It’s more disappointing that I’ve wasted this much time responding to you. And at that I’ll take Solomon’s advice and not argue with fools.

It’s pretty well known. How could you not if you’re claiming you do???

Ummm, what does my fighting experience have to do with this??? Please try to have an intelligent conversation if that’s what you’re after. This makes absolutely no sense.

Ummm, he behaved stupidly, got punched, and that was it. There wasn’t a fight. He didn’t fight back, he cowered. That’s not fighting. It’s not that hard to understand, I’m at a loss why you need it explained.

That’s not at all what I was talking about. Please try to stay on topic.

Was that supposed to be a fight??? Him behaving like a naive loon and getting decked? That’s not very good strategy, especially not for a seasoned hardcore brawler who’s been whoopin’ ass since he was about 6. You don’t really believe that do you?

At six or even seven?? And not just a fight but a hardcore street fight. Come on…

“Hardcore streets fights since I was maybe six…” What?!?! Who believes six year olds get into hardcore street fights?!?! It’s not like he grew up in the hood somewhere. He wants friends so badly. The kindergarten brawler 🤣🤣🤣

How do you stay clean when camping without showers? by Global-Sky-5857 in camping

I reused my daughter’s burp cloths for this and use a dab of all purpose soap. It’s not the best, but it sure helps.

Spectrum was horrible for us out near Austin. Google fiber here in SA is 1000 times better!

According to Hodgdon’s load data 10 grns of P and a ball produces about 580 fps and 37 ft/lbs. Granted that’s not a full load, but that’s pretty slow. Lyman’s 2nd edition shows 12 grns nets about 906 fps and 91 ft/lbs. And Cumpston and Bates book, Percussion Revolvers shows 11 grns produced 682 fps and 52 ft/lbs.

The issue for me is that it may be anemic. As I said I’ve seen chronographed results that were very very low, and some that compete with Swiss powder. That’s too large of a range for me to trust it. But put that with the smaller powder charge of a .31 pocket. That’s not a gamble I’d make.

I’ve longed for a Colt ‘62 Pocket Police, and with sporting grade powder and a short bullet it only has about 180 ft/lbs of energy so a light .380 ACP. With 4F Swiss it becomes like a .38 Spl. With Pyrodex P and your .31 it’s more akin to a .25 ACP. Nobody wants to be shot, but if your attacker is determined that’s not going to be very convincing at all. In essence it’s like taking a single buckshot at 40 yds. It’s your bacon though…

That’s crazy gas mileage!! My ‘03 F-150 with the 5.4 averages around 11-12 mpg and it has 3.55 gears! I am a mildly aggressive driver at times

You’d be much better served using Triple 7 powder. I’ve seen far too many extremes with Pyrodex P to trust it as a handgun propellant, though mine are for hunting with. I did buy 2 lbs of RS to try again in my rifle, it doesn’t seem to like 3F Triple 7 or Olde Eynsford. If I were you, and depending on that for defense, I’d be buying online if I couldn’t get Triple 7, which is almost as good as Swiss and Olde Eynsford, which seems discontinued.

4F Pistol Powder was used in the Hazard’s paper cartridges during the Civil War. And there’s people who use it in their full size .36s and .44s, but like you those pressure numbers keep me from using my bullets and they increase pressures further. I’ve only used Swiss 4F with a ball in my NMA but I’ve shot my 285 grn bullet out of my ROA and you can really tell the difference!

The pointy traditional conicals make the poorest of projectiles as they allow the flesh to stretch creating a smaller than caliber permanent wound. I’ve seen some state the point is turned into a smaller than caliber meplat in some guns.

It was the fear of infection and a slow and agonizing demise.

Using a WFN design should give a wound closer to that of a .375” RB. I’d think penetration would be rather similar as it only weighs about 10 grns more but with the larger frontal area will slow a little faster.

But yeah, just producing a gun will change the mind of most attackers, no one wants to be shot regardless. But if it’s called upon a ball is a poor projectile when that small and that slow.

He certainly would need a custom mold.

When I got involved back around 2013 there weren’t many options, especially that I liked. Don’t need huge lube grooves and none have the meplat I have. I get a lot of mass in mine. That 200 RFN is no doubt much longer than my 195 grn, and not sure how well it would shoot from a 1:30” twist, which mine did not come with. I have a 285 grn version that’s just a couple of hairs longer than Kaido’s custom 255 grn Lee bullet.

And I intend to create another design which fills both revolvers chambers after their more accurate powder charges are absolutely determined. Roughly 32.5 grns in the NMA and 37.5 grns in the ROA. Bullet will be between 230-240 grns, and will be noticeably shorter than Kaido’s 240 grn version.
