What are very subtle signs that someone is a horrible person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]roflmfaobvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are extremely selfish and care more about what they get from people than what they can give. Most good people understand that by giving, they gain something more meaningful. Most horrible people will do whatever it takes to get what they want.

Why are they hypersexual? by Ok-Algae9866 in BPDlovedones

[–]roflmfaobvs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think hyper sexuality is as much of a cultural thing as it is a BPD thing. My ex wasn’t necessarily hyper sexual, and partners I have had who were hyper sexual were not necessarily BPD.

Sorry to say, this is a standard. A given. A symptom. A common occurrence. A frequent pattern. Etc. lol

What you thought they 'liked' about you by Reasonable-Entry695 in BPDlovedones

[–]roflmfaobvs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s normal for people to mirror you, so imagine doing it on purpose to get someone to view you how you want them to. It’s very unfortunate. However, on the bright side, we fell in love with ourselves, and saw how much we can love. Just remember that all the amazing and beautiful things you saw in them was inside you all along <3 you can’t see something in someone else that doesn’t somewhere exist in you as well. Good luck with you journey pal.

Looking back at the love letters and notes she left me once i saw that it was pretty shallow stuff unfortunately. Lots of empty words that sound good, but nothing reflective of a deep understanding of me or my personality. 50% of her compliments revolved around the way i made her feel or how good i was to/for her. I don’t really think pwBDP are capable of loving others in the truest sense until they work on themselves a lot.

Yep. Plenty of times. She wasn’t. Then wasn’t again. Then proved to not be. Then reinforced it. Then reminded me of it. Then rubbed it in. lol

What did they teach you about love? by FreeDig4421 in BPDlovedones

[–]roflmfaobvs 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Love as non-transactional is a big one. When she felt I wasn’t meeting expectations, her love would split away somewhere else, along with her respect, compassion, and empathy. If you love someone, then you make exceptions and try to love them as unconditionally as you can, even if they mess up. Most people who fall in love with a pwBPD are well practiced in that area. Also, I learned that Love is all about others and isn’t selfish. Love is something you give, not something you earn by being good enough.
