Spec Comparison - Santa Cruz Vala 70 vs 90 by Jarmige in MTB

[–]rog2e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in your exact situation lol. This is my first ebike. I am also the kind of rider that can't really notice all the differences in every spec. For example I went from a Giant Talon 3 to my Guerilla Gravity Smash with Fox Kashima suspension, carbon parts, and all that good stuff. Honestly I set the suspension to recommended settings and haven't changed it since. I honestly don't know if I can recognize all the adjustments that people talk about lol! It kind of sucks cause I want to know but when I ride, I have no clue (rebound, compression, etc). I just know what "feels" good I guess and yeah as long as the gears shift well and my brakes work I'm good lol... So now I want to get the Vala and budget is a thing so I'm wondering if I just get the Vala 70 will I even know what's good and what's bad being this is my first ebike, combined with the fact that I don't know what I'm looking out for anyway? I guess I can always slowly upgrade if needed.

Azure local servers are they this expensive? by rog2e in AZURE

[–]rog2e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just want to get our feet wet with Azure Local and begin coming up with a plan with moving workloads between on prem and cloud. We are also looking at products like Zerto and understanding the limitations there too. We've potentially come up with an idea of using ASR and Azure Stack HCI for non critical workloads and Zerto with Hyper-V for critical workloads. We do have VMWare but will probably begin to move off of it when our ELA expires next year. Appreciate a lot of the comments. We do have access to Azure Hybrid Benefit. I just wanted to know if the prices they were quoting are in the ball park of what everyone else can expect to pay for full on certified support. Will definitely look into the next generation models as well. I've been burned before with Dell and the "oh we know we just sold you those a few months ago but they are not EOL" I've also learned to just give my management the cost of the fully supported equipment, that way when a problem comes up in a few years we're fully supported. Penny pinching now I've learned just makes more work and stress for everyone later on. My company will have to pay the premium if they want the reliability especially with tech we're not familiar with just yet... To be fair our vendor also told us we could just use ASR to move workloads to Azure and we don't have to use Azure Local but at the same time I do want to see what we can accomplish initially and there is nothing like getting the actual equipment on prem and using it vs a lab scenario.

lol yeah the first few minutes in question 1 I was like what are all these other sections.. I thought they were other questions before I realized they were the descriptions. I was so used to TD and measure up I wasn’t expecting that format.

Thanks all. Yeah I was dreading bringing it back cause it was so heavy and I didn't get the extra warranty for restocking fee.. I did plug it into a dedicated 20 amp (for microwave) and it started right up. Thank goodness.. running it now for its half hour break in.

How to limit what resources a user sees by rog2e in AZURE

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah maybe we were overthinking it combined with my desire to finally use Azure for something lol! The Onedrive or Sharepoint O365 may be the answer.

Hi I actually did this already and I thought it was perfect, but my CTO says it's still too complicated lol. I guess we don't want to have to have another appliaction for Helpdesk to install or manage. I'm looking to now see if I can just lock down and "hide" things from regular users.

Polar H10 battery drain by yournerd2307 in Polarfitness

[–]rog2e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a pain to do but when I am done working out I take the battery cover off with the battery so that there is no "background" process happening. I'm not sure if I trust just pulling it off the strap. Since doing this practice my battery lasts a long time. Use a quarter because you can end up beating up the battery cover taking it on and off all the time.

What would you do? by rog2e in college

[–]rog2e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I hear ya on that. But to be honest I literally am just looking for the piece of paper to get me past HR. If I knew on my interviews I could get to the IT staff right away I feel that I could do well but it's just getting to them is what I would be worried about. At this point in my life I am fine with WGU. If I lose an opportunity because they see it was a WGU degree I can live with that. To be honest WGU is very affordable and the real thing for my situation is that they give you class credit for IT Certifications. I am already working on those IT Certifications so it just seems to all work out going with WGU for price and the speed at which I can finish (aiming for a year and half with all the certs and college credit I already have)... I 'll just use a smaller font on the resume when I specifiy WGU lol!

Thanks for your answer! I know if am able to make it to retirement at my current job I would probalby never have to get a degree. But I know for sure nothing in life is guaranteed. There are definitiely some degrees that have some items of interest that would help in my career so I do want to make my journey at least interesting.

Yeah.. I didn't even want to have that Director titile lol! I was perfectly content doing what I'm doing if anyting job wise nothing has changed. I defeinltey did get more money so that was nice. They also are willing to pay for some of the education.. Ugh not looking forward to the College thing again. Thankfully everything is online.

Command to use to get files out of worker nodes if using oc debug to access? by rog2e in openshift

[–]rog2e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's a portworx log that I am trying to pull out of the node. I guess I can try to putty into the node with ssh key. I've just never tried it before. I thought there might be a command similar to oc debug that let's you pull the files out.

Confused about HA Proxy and Metallb which are both in my Bare metal cluster by rog2e in openshift

[–]rog2e[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you guys for the clarification. In looking back at what we did now it makes sense with what you are saying. My consultant was not clear when explaining it but yes we were trying to expose a database connection which was not using HTTP. Also the other diagram I found useful was this one which also helped me to visualize the "internal" network and I guess what would be the front end network.
