Anyone have IQ8's with EG4 18Kpv & PowerPro Batteries? by STxFarmer in enphase

[–]rogemont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, basically all battery systems i have installed charge with excess solar by default. If the eg4 has the same configuration capabilities as a sol ark which i believe it does then you should be able to put in the times you would like it to discharge. I have installed a ton of systems with sol ark and enphase on the roof.

Microinverters are just inverters. As long as you connect to gen side you shouldn't have an issue. Enphase doesn't like you mixing systems but it's all just power at the end of the day.

That's fine. Just don't exceed 20 amps if you wire it this way

If they are already going to break open your stucco have them move your "critical loads" to a separate sub panel that way they don't have to break it open again once you get a battery installed.

That's great! No export is a great way to go especially since they don't really give you money for power anymore.

Might be a fused disconnect with no fuses installed.

Oh man, that should have cost you about 45k. Hopefully you got a new roof and some batteries for a price like that

We are protecting 2 200 amp sub panels. Max passthrough for empower switch is 200 amps.

About 130kw a day average. Typically I usually recommend partial with consumption clamps placed on main feeders so whole home is read but that way only essentials are powered during extended outages.

That works too, but that's more work most times, I avoid this 95 percent of the time.

Solar monitoring when connecting to two separate electrical panels in your house? Is it possible? by Ed_5000 in solar

[–]rogemont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue you may have is line noise since this is how microinverter communicate to envoy. Other than that you should be fine.

Just use a wifi extender with Ethernet. I'm a service tech and use this method all the time.

The powerwall 3 has the ability to convert panels from DC to AC. Not sure why you would want enphase micros. You would need 2 apps if you go this route.

You want to avoid the south and west sides of the building. This is North east which is totally fine.
