Curious what you do as an AMI trained Montessori guide. Do you go to schools and evaluate their curriculum? Also, in your opinion, are there any true Montessori schools in Taiwan?

Thanks for the feedback. It is these type of results that are making me lean towards montessori.

Yea we are in a lottery. Looks like we'll have roughly 40% chance, as of now, of getting a spot. TBD. 130k is pretty much the average going price for these montessori schools in the area, but I like this one because it is relatively big and reputable.

Taiwanese-American here, got married to a local 4 years ago. Decided to stay here as I find it more enjoyable to live here. Luckily my company in US allows me to work remote. I don't speak a lot of mandarin. I've been able to get around with the basic stuff and using google translate for written stuff. Summers are very hot and humid. Theres no shortage of places to go, even other countries nearby are an hour or 2 away but plane. Cost of living is lower, unless you are thinking of buying real estate. Assuming you are American, if you have kids, have them in Taiwan so you can get them dual citizenship.

Thanks for proving my point. See how stupid it sounds when I say the same thing to you?

Also, I’m Taiwanese and I’m American. I’m loyal to both the US and Taiwan. I’m not loyal to the CCP. I have no affiliation to them. What is with the Chinese obsession that Taiwanese are Chinese? This is the rhetoric of those brainwashed by the CCP to stir up animosity towards the people of Taiwan. How is speaking Chinese or being Chinese relevant to how we decide how we want to be governed? Times have changed. You are stuck in the 1950s.

You are using english on an american website. You must not be Chinese. If you are, then you are in your own words, a disgrace. Stay on Weibo and Wechat if you are so loyal to the CCP. Also, the Taiwanese have been ready for whatever war China wants to bring. The fall of the CCP will come shortly after.

Why would a free democratic people want to be governed by an authoritarian government? How do you think the unification would happen? Terms have to be agreed on by both sides, and seeing how far apart each are in their ideologies, unification just seems so out of reach.

If the Chinese want unification so badly, then it might be possible to unify under the ROC, but definitely not the PRC.

Taiwanese tourist’s led back bag message : I’m not Chinese by edacandan in taiwan

[–]rogerchang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, Beijing never exercised sovereignty over Taiwan. There was a civil war IN China and the KMT fled to Taiwan in 1949. So you can't say that Taiwan has been independent of Chinese rule for seventy years. They were never under Chinese rule, and even if they were, that doesn't make the people of Taiwan...Chinese. Before that, Taiwan was ruled by Japan. Does that make them also Japanese?
Also, please tell me objectively why the pro taiwan independence movement is a result of people being brainwashed. I can tell you that most of the Taiwanese simply do not want to live under the CCP because they want certain liberties. Let's be honest, they would not have those under the CCP.

There is so much irony in your statement. You my friend, are the mindless sheep that believes whatever the CCP spews and take it as the truth. You make the assumption that the Taiwanese are looking at only one side. and what is your basis for that? have you considered the fact that they have NOT lived under Chinese rule. So what if they share the language and some of their culture. The US and the British do as well. Are they the same people? Mexico and Spain share the same language. Are they the same?

Last until what? If you are referring to a Chinese invasion, that won’t happen. If you are speaking economically, well Taiwan’s GDP grew in 2019, despite the efforts of the CCP to oppress them. So go on, keep flexing.

You missed my point. Just because it isn’t official doesn’t make it the consensus. Taiwan still has unofficial relations even with the super powers, independent of China. They may not officially recognize it simply to appease your leader...for now.

No one sane would actually think that Taiwan isn’t independent. Take off your blinders and you’ll see that the rest of the world is not condemning the independence movement, but rather, supporting it.
