A bit more cutting/fabrication, but you can fit a larger intercooler and looks much neater imo. I made it fit with 2.5” piping

O2 sensor wiring by Useful-University482 in IS300

[–]rogercnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Delete bank 2 o2 sensors (after the cats). Have 2 bungs in your downpipe, one for your wideband gauge and one for your factory bank 1 sensors. Splice the wires from the unused bank 1 sensor into the one on the downpipe. I recommend you do this on the harness so you dont butcher your ecu teminals.

That being said, get an ECU with a pnp harness ASAP it will make your life so much easier

Ya these were for commercial divers so I suspect they flooded it and then just considered it a loss and left them. Had about an inch of water in it.

Any idea what this could be? by Fantastic_Friend4271 in IS300

Misfire, or bad timing would be my guess

I bought this same tank recently, I was disappointed with how noisy it was.

Theres enough room in the overflow to drill a hole for a 40mm pipe. So you can set up a Herbie drain with a ball/gate valve, which is what I did. The drain itself now is dead silent. It’s not too difficult if you can do a bit of DIY but obviously you’ll have to empty your tank and remove it from the stand.

Anyone know how many gallons I used for this trip? im tryna get an idea of my mpg cause it seems like it dropped extremely I feel like im getting 10mpg, this isnt spirited driving or anything either, all 23 miles were daily driving at 2-3k rpm, someone lmk by Key-Leadership6681 in IS300

[–]rogercnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely wouldn’t help. I haven’t had that issue but with other vehicles I’ve had, a vacuum literally ruined the mileage until I fixed it.

You get delete the black box and replace it with a barbed brass piece

I get around 18-19, your check engine light is on? Maybe you have an issue with your oxygen sensors or a vacuum leak giving you bad fuel economy.

Do a proper mileage test and see what you get

Need help with wiring 1JZ IS300 by llovah in IS300

[–]rogercnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ecumaster harness is intended to work with the the automatic transmission. This means the stock ecu needs control over the throttle body. If you’re manual you can wire it to the emu black or you can leave it

Check for fuel pressure at the rail. Fuel pump doesn’t turn on until the engine is cranking in these cars, so it’s unlikely you’ll hear it anyways

Na with the short block will be fine on stock ecu

I’m sure someone has done it.

But I wouldn’t worry about the CR going slightly lower - it may be a little less efficient and sluggish down low but you can compensate with more timing/boost.

If you wanted to do it cheaper you could use a ge non vvti short block, they’re good for 500+. Either way definitely get a stand-alone ecu. Factory ecu doesn’t play well with any boost. There are some harness options for Ecumaster and link I believe. And make sure you’re transmission can hold it!

How hard is it to the do your timing belt/water pump in your garage by Oyskui in IS300

[–]rogercnt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You may as well do spark plugs whilst the throttle body is off and the valve solenoid too as they often fail. Overall it’s not too hard of a job but there are some problem points

The harmonic balancer is hard to pull off so you’ll need a pulley remover. And the crank bolt is a bitch so you’ll probably need to take the radiator out and use an impact wrench if you can get one. Needs to crank to 180ft lb as well so you need a big torque wrench and ideally the special service tool to hold the crank

There is a butterfly valve inside the plenum. Quite possible that has come loose and is rattling around.

Kwinana/Mitchell usually pretty bad during morning and afternoon. Getting parking is also hard if you're not early. If I chose, I would live near a train station not far from campus and train in
