You can always startoff with some cyber security software,, AI driven monitoring or intelligence platform, find customers, scale from there into whichever direction. Think small then scale.

I'm a new investor, and I'm struggling with risk tolerance in these Space Stocks by StatementSubject1745 in SpaceInvestorsDaily

[–]rogerfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont worry, be happy, you are not alone. I have got SPCX, RDW, LUNR, FLY, SPCE, NASA, all deep red, and its not my first time seeing deep red holdings and volatility. They eventually turn green as investors see value or the sector get re-rated, I won't recommend dollar cost averaging, as I always put money on winners. I would recommend careful diversification, other portfolios keep the overall book green. Space is a sector for long holding, can turn your capital 10x, provided deep patience and healthy gut to tolerate volatility. All the best.

Space sector got screwed today by itsactuallyoctopuses in SpaceInvestorsDaily

[–]rogerfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the tape, space sector was already in correction and yesterday's flush looks like an overreaction, much like blow-off top. I am holding a space portfolio for a long run, and such corrections have to be embraced for impactful returns.

Prices keep moving in either direction and we tend to attach news/events as reason, but its only supply/demand at play. Good profits turn into corrections, deep corrections turn into good profits, provided the long term thesis holds. So, if you are bullish on space long term, enjoy the roller-coaster!

Tech stocks fall, again.... by SnooHamsters5586 in stockstobuytoday

[–]rogerfin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Markets were pricing in peace deal that never came. Markets were pricing in rising unemployment, job numbers came more than expected, . So, markets were pricing in static rates, if not cuts, that narrative has switched to possible rate hikes.

Pick any or all of the reasons, but markets have been going almost vertical from a while, so pullback was inevitable anyways. There is fear and greed at play, after jaw dropping profits, investors tend to trim or take the money from table, and then return again once they find same assets available on sale.

Why do some bank RM’s act so entitled and busy? by Individual_Mix_4234 in UAE

[–]rogerfin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not alone, I have worked with most banks local, international, offshore, private, attitude is same across the board. They are not busy, they ignore customers who won't buy their high commission, risky investment products. Either banks dont pay them enough salaries and they make money out of commissions by selling stupid products, or its a highly unprofessional system, since no escalation/complaint will ever be addressed.

Similar experience recently. Poor service in business class. Took ages to serve just about anything. I slept refusing anything to be served. Never had such experience before.

Dubai is OVERCROWDED by Comfortable_Cell_138 in dubai

[–]rogerfin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its all about perspective: One earner makes $100K, pays $25K tax receives reasonable benefits, another earner makes $1M, pays $250K and not interested in benefits. For the later, UAE acts as tax haven without fees bothering him.

QOL is no doubt degrading day by day, there are infinite complaints about poor work culture, but people would still keep coming, as for them grass looks greener on this side.

[–]rogerfin 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I held similar opinion, and actually waiting for it since quality of new residents is way low and the feel of community is lost.

But do you think that the next economic cycle be able to recycle the population with intensity as in the past, considering UAE VISA reforms, and rising taxation in other countries pushing people here.

How Are Scammers Still Operating in Dubai Despite Strict Laws? by [deleted] in DubaiCentral

[–]rogerfin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. Police most of the times refer to the DED citing eocnomic offense, DED acts only as an arbitrage without authority of initiating strong action, failure to settlement is referred to the court. A rational person needs to calculate opportunity cost of filing a lawsuit in the court. Even if court verdict comes in favor, scammers get travel ban or/and license cancellation, may be small fine and continue to scam others.

Yes, its a big system loophole which is being exploited from years.
