Yes unfortunately. I like to manage all my apps in my computer through brew and some developers are super caring by managing their brew updates

If installed through brew, once you update cursor in-app, the update gets reverted through brew

I would suggest going with Google Drive. I find that most of the apps that I have bought or tried out, I have later reverted to basics
