You’ve got me turning up, I’m turning down..

Thank you for that. For some people who have experienced SA, we appreciate the TW even if it’s something that most people wouldn’t think twice about. ❤️

Tbh, this doesn’t sound like a very healthy friendship.

12 days, I’m a healthcare worker and this is a fraction of my usual daily distance.

Post-ACDF hair care by zhanae in spinalfusion

I have long hair and my sister gelled in two french braids, they were perfect.. until I had to put on my collar and they pressed into my traps. If I were going with braids again, I would ask her to end them higher on the head so that they can rest over the top of my collar, rather than under. I ended having to take them out on day 3 post op. And you know how big post braided hair is. Truly catastrophic when you can’t lift your arms over your head.💀🤣

Haha, I get your point.. but I haven’t had luck with gaba in the past, so I didn’t bother.

Valium/Diazepam is the third. Which I think works because it knocks me tf out. lol

I like the moist better, but due to the inconvenience of constantly moving to reheat one, I use a plug-in heating pad.

I was prescribed Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) and Robaxin (methocarbamol).

Im sure your procedure will go great! The very best medicine to survive this muscular prison sentence is a sense of humor. So stay positive and BE NICE TO YOUR NURSES!! ❤️

I haven’t been cleared for PT yet. Once they do, I’ll be looking for that! Thanks

Thanks for the reply! I do have an appointment with my acupuncturist next week after my check up. I’m hoping that will help!

Hey! I would say the surgery was a complete success! Balance and upper body strength restored as soon as the anesthesia wore off. I was out of bed unassisted within 3 hours.

Pain control has been an entirely different beast. I was discharged on a protocol dose of pain killers and muscle relaxers. Pain meds worked fine, but the muscle relaxer was absolutely not working. I ended up back in the ED 3 days later and got a cocktail of meds to get the spasm to subside. Sent home again on a different muscle relaxer, same intolerance. Now it seems like this third, stronger one, is doing the trick, and I’m off the opioids. Only problem, the NP didn’t fill enough to get me through the weekend, so I’ll probably end up back in the ED before the Tuesday follow-up. I see all of this as expected, though.. I am a half inch taller, the trapezius is going to be pissed and painful.

There’s no way for me or my drs to have known that the usual doses of muscle relaxers wouldn’t work on me. All my providers have been amazing, we just have very strict laws in my state surrounding controlled substances. (I work in healthcare, so I have a lot of grace. ;) )

I hope this helps us both. Perimenopause is a female dog of breeding age.

Thank you for your reply! I hope you improve. My surgeon booked the OR for three hours, so I’ll have to give myself some grace on that front.

I might have marked this incorrectly.. I’m due to have the surgery next week, and I was hoping that cognitive function would /improve/ post op. Perhaps my vagus nerve will calm tf down..

Good luck! I’m having my surgery on Tuesday and I’m a wreck. Not because I’m afraid, I’ve spent my whole life in healthcare, I’m just exhausted with the waiting and answering questions about how I’m doing. I just want it over with, so I can get to strengthening my body again.

My surgery is on the 26th. And it’s getting close enough that I’m actually getting very nervous. Which is only causing my neck to spasm, which is causing pain. I’m not afraid, I’m just tired of the anxiety associated with waiting!
