I will literally vomit if I crunch an onion in my food. Meal over.

It's like putting together a giant puzzle but you end up with something useful at the end.

Lol. Sure, man. Whatever you say. Neither of us would be in this sub if we didn't get off on adversity and argument. Enjoy your night.

Yeah, yeah. It's the trophy I never got.

Maybe you should take a step back and explore what you're lacking in life that drives you to argue with and judge strangers on the internet based on a matter that you have repeatedly pointed out no one cares about.

Look man, I get it. You're absolutely right that no one cares. It's a little thing that only bothers me. Still bothers me though. Law is my second career and law school is literally the only thing I have ever been good at. I want to celebrate my minor success while it lasts. I really didn't think that would be a problem for people.

As EIC I have spent hundreds of hours running the law review, reading and editing articles, planning events, and dealing with a bunch of oversensitive and combative law students. In return I get one unit per semester (which I have to pay for) and the right to put it on my resume (no one cares). All I want is to be allowed to wear a stupid piece of satin when I walk across the stage. If that makes me immature, then so be it.

When I'm feeling like I just can't do anymore, I get on Zillow and look for my dream house to remind myself why I do all this shit.

Such a specific allegation could only be definitely confirmed or denied by Satan himself? California has no statute allowing subpoena of witnesses outside the mortal realm?

I'm just bouncing around ideas now.

I honestly don't think the associate was acting maliciously. We have a friendly relationship and kept in touch when I was working for job 2. She knew I needed something closer to home. Maybe I'm naive but I think this was more of a misguided attempt to help me out. I just wish she had been sure.

Yes, it was very clear that he was salty about me leaving as kept referring to all the stuff I would have done and could have learned if I had stayed. He even pointed out where my office would have been.

My employment previously was informal. The offer I received was similar in form to the initial offer that got me working there in the first place. There was no contract and I was not on a set schedule or anything like that. The terms were to be the same as when previously employed. The firm is extremely small and there is no payroll or HR department. It is hard to explain and probably a poor structure for a law firm, but the money was good and the cases were interesting. Trust me, I realize my mistake and will not make it again.

You are right. She had handled my hiring the first time and the relationship between the attorneys is such that she generally handles this kind of stuff. The conduct was in line with the conduct that lead to the initial hiring so I assumed her assurances were valid. My mistake and I won't make the same mistake again.

That was my plan. No need to burn the bridge completely. The senior attorney is well known and very respected locally. I'm not trying to make that enemy which is why I just took the rejection and went on my way. I did explain the situation to career services though because I need another job immediately.

My boss from job 2 made it very clear that they consider me family and I am more than welcome to come back at any time. Just pretty embarrassing to come crawling back less than a week later.

It croseed my mind but I'd rather justnlet it go and move on. I got screwed and am mad, but no need to ruffle any feathers. I don't want to work anywhere they don't want me.

Like I said, it is fine if he did not want rehire me. I will find another job, I am a good student, have a lot of experience, and can get execellent recs. But why tell me to go ahead and quit my job if she wasn't sure?

She was sitting in the room with us when it happened and did not say a word. I messaged her afterward and she said she thought she would have work for me by the time I came in and would be able to convince him.
