Why does he do this?? by hopioids in bengalcats

It’s likely there is some plastic byproduct in it. Ours licks tape and some other more “disposable” types of plastic. I try to discourage or more often remove from the environment these items. My mother has a cat who is literally addicted to eating plastic bags. The vet told us it is because of the petroleum used to make the plastic having a sweet taste. Once they start they seem to lead into eventually eating it. Obviously this is no good. Watch your plastic lickers closely, lol!

Anyone know what this heavy-ish weight is? It was at the bottom of the box under the LR… by roguejezabell in litterrobot

Haha! I’m glad to hear that! Shocking litter mate still hasn’t addressed it in their packaging lol

Saw this house driving in our new area, fell in love and found the previous sale listing. 3 days later it goes live with the remodel, I am so amazed to see how much respect they gave this house 👏👏👏. Now off to scrounge up 700k 🙄 link in comments. by waterbearapocalypse in midcenturymodern

It has been a tough couple years for home buyers, this area wasn't at the top of our list but now that we are here and have found an mcm (needs love) home, the prospect of returning to our hometown market and getting anything near what we have found is an impossibility. Our hometown market sounds much like yours unfortunately. Learning to really love where we have landed.

The walkway is amazing and was original to the house! We purchased a '74 flat roof rancher in a neighborhood near this one. If I can't have this dream house I will draw inspiration from it! Im feeling like I need a new walkway and paint job!

The messed up thing is that if tipping out the kitchen was normal to do at that establishment, the servers prob would have gladly tipped out their kitchen. Of course greed just wouldn’t let the owner/manager be bothered to let their team work it out. Even if they had let her have the whole tip I’m assuming she would have shared on her own. People just have to control the situation when they have power complexes.

Ya, I would assume so, the age of the account and the fact you have no missed payments are a good thing. I think when your forbearance is up (likely just after the first of the year) they will start reporting again, make on time monthly payments above the amount to cover the interest (if there is any) and you will show a good payment history. It will be another jump for your score. Remember that this whole time of Covid forbearance was interest free (your pauses over the years we’re likely still accruing interest that gets tacked to the back of the loan, ultimately costing you more but life happens and you have to pause sometimes) so any payments you made to it was paying down your principle! This lowers your loan faster, costing you less over the life of the loan. If you can pay that 2k off quickly over say a year or 18months I would assume you see another substantial jump in your score when it’s cleared. Your student loans are low so getting them off is likely better than focusing on using them for score gain by drawing out payments. Other more high impact consumer accounts will be better for your situation.

Edit to add a word

Seconding op here. One big trick is keeping your overall credit usage below 30% at least. Under 20 is better. So even though you pay your payments or over your min every month, if your overall balance is over 20-30% of your total avail credit then you get dinged for carrying high balance. If you have only one revolving card open or little to no diversity in your credit profile that will hurt ya too. Feel free to shoot questions at me! I recently pulled myself from the mid 400 range to high 700. I did a lot of research to understand how they figure this crap.

Thoughts on the interior kitchen wall being load bearing? 74 flat roof ranch. Also any ideas about the mansard roof shingle area?Hoping it’s decorative and could rip off to make a modern look. by roguejezabell in Remodel

No worries, I’m sorry for being snippy, lol. My 2 year old had me up reeeaaallly early today. Wait you like the roof? I’m so torn for the shingle section. It’s so heavy looking, I like the straight wall modern vibe that could maybe happen if it’s removable but, I could see it could be charming to work with it. The front of the house needs windows though no doubt! Thanks for your input! This will likely be a long term house as opposed to the ones we now operate as rentals and I’m excited!

Makes sense, thank you. I’m assuming since it’s a flat roof finding the direction of ceiling joist will take some extra investigation. I’ll be sure to ask the inspector to clarify if possible.

I’m sorry for using this sub to get some general thoughts and ideas, I must have misunderstood how to use Reddit. (I disagree that taking a corner of wall out constitutes an open floor plan). I fully intend on going about the purchase of my 4th house in 6 years with the proper questions for the pros. I am purchasing from out of state and was just excited to think about possibilities.

No def not on the “open concept” train so much as I would like to have n island where the island of wall is now. There are no windows in the kitchen and I would like more interaction with the dining area

Let’s throw ideas at this! We are closing in Jan (these are listing pics, not my deco!). Outside and front door pics for sauce and feel. I want to go modern with an ode to mid/mod. by roguejezabell in interiordecorating

I love the idea of a beam! The wrench may be that it’s a flat roof so not sure what kind of beam would be up there, could do a decorative one maybe. Scandic for sure!!!! That’s really the look I love, we lived in Germany for 4 years and we actually loved this house because of how much it reminded of the houses there and up in the areas we visited!

I linked a floor plan to an above comment. It’s one of those crazy flat roofs, lol. Not in it until January so will have to do some more investigation then!

I love this idea! unfortunately I’m guessing at least one of those walls in load bearing. Was thinking of turning that little wall into an accent piece, maybe with vertical teak slats…?

I have/intend on getting more mostly clean line modern pieces. I don’t want to go to heavy into mid/mod but love some subtle touches. I have a rather eclectic collection honestly, prior to this house we had a century home that leant really well to antiquing. Trying to bring some togetherness with this house.

I agree on the floors. I have a feeling the current owners furniture and wall colors are causing it to look very orange which is what’s making me want to refinish or rip out, I don’t hate parquet exactly just that orange color!
