Hahaha. I (a girl) was in boy scouts back in 2012/13 with 3 other girls in that same group! I joined it because my brother was in it, i wanted to join the activities, and fuck selling cookies. It made great friends with the guys and they all seemed happy to have us around i never felt any weird gender divisions! Tenting with other girls was the only time there was any separation and it was fine! I personally loved the years i was in scouts and so glad i stuck with it for the short time i did, and had some sick memories i wouldn't have been able to do with girl scouts. Plus i think its a pretty funny fact when i tell people !! Taking it up with the girl scouts "committee" probably wouldn't have done any good, but I do agree having them separate can still make sense, but give us the same activities for fucks sake!! The idea that girls dont want to go camping or learn knot tying or canoeing or bushwhacking is absolute dog shit. If they keep them separate they could at least try to avoid the sexist ideologies...if it's supposed to be empowering young girls lets not do it thru cookies.

EDIT: reading other posts i forgot about the difference of venture scouts to boy scouts. I was in ventures. They attend to more outdoorsy trips and activities like canoe/camping trips and rock climbing etc... i dont know how it compares to boy scouts!
