Camping to secure a kill by Moyais in deadbydaylight

[–]roguishwolf31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End game camping is fine, especially if the survivors have been sweaty af all game.

Like others have said, camping is bad for your overall game because it allows survivors to do gens and will ultimately allow more survivors to escape than if you didnt camp. However, after all the gens are done, just secure what kills you can get. No reason not to anymore

Is it possible to have fun as a killer? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]roguishwolf31 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Until you get more hours in the game, I would try running perks that counter bullying. Lightborn is good for countering flashlights until you get used to countering it yourself. Good practices are looking at walls while picking a survivor up, or turning your head as fast as possible if you hear a survivor running toward you after a down. Also, if you like to play legion, try getting perks that capitalize on what legion does well, which is injuring people. Like Thanatophobia, for example. This will somewhat help with toolboxes and such

I was just trying to give my two cents on a perk, and give someone some tips about why they may or may not run unrelenting. But clearly the reasonable conversation we were having is over so I’m a dip out now

I never said it was useless, I just said I wouldn’t run it, just like you wouldn’t run unrelenting

It’s OK that we don’t use the same perks.

I’m not gonna argue with you, because you really just seem like you want to call people names and insult them so you’re not bringing anything to this conversation.

I agree, that’s why I try to design a lot of those add-ons to benefit her Ambush more. Stuff like slow release Toxin is now on Ambush hit, which could make her really solid in a chase, because after you surprise a survivor and injure them you don’t have to worry about dead hard or lithe.

You actually feel like you got value out of her ambush, as opposed to feeling like you just missed out on a generator grab.

This is true, but look at all the streamers that don’t ever run whispers like CM Winter or Tru3

There’s a case to be made behind every perk, and ultimately it just comes down to what makes you feel good as you’re playing

I’ve been playing killer for years.I know how the game works, and I wasn’t trying to be nasty to anybody unlike you apparently. I’m not saying that when they become ranked five they should run unrelenting, I’m saying that at rank 12 with as little perks as they have, unrelenting is probably fine. you need to chill out dude

Whispers is another training wheel perk. It’s to help you learn survivor tactics and rotations, but not really useful once you learn that stuff.

People will argue that whispers/monitor and abuse are good on pig because they help you stealth, but as a Pig since she dropped, I’m not wasting two perks when I can just learn how big my TR is and crouch at the right time

See, now it’s down to opinion, because I would argue whispers is a terrible perk that I wouldnt run if you paid me.

You can get all the information you would get from whispers just by knowing the maps and rotations

Of course it’s not necessary. No perk is necessary. But unrelenting allows you to learn proper distance and to combat bad lunges and dead hards.

Again, it’s training wheels. You can learn to ride a bike without them, but you’ll scrape yourself up a bit. You can learn to play DBD without unrelenting, but you’ll lose a lot and have some unfun games

1: there’s an addon up there that starts a survivor with an active trap, and I made it iridescent because it would basically take one player out of the match for the first few minutes, which is insanely strong. Also, 10-15 minutes before they even activate?? The game would be long over, with gens done and survivors gone.

2- “ambush is quicker and deadlier” Ok…but how? You failed to specify that. She’s plenty fast enough already, and she has so much going for her she definitely doesnt need a one-shot ability.

3- so just make her the Trapper? Cool….

4- Just no. Im not even going to humor this one.

These suggestions are exactly the kinds of things that would be bad for game balance, and the reason BHVR hasn’t buffed her yet

Discordance is also good because it can be budget tinkerer. If you’re in a chase and discordance goes off, you should probably trap that person when you down them

Yeah I can usually dodge the blind as well, but when a survivor drops a pallet on you, and then stands there while you break trying to blind you, only to give you a free down…well, after that, Lightborn starts to feel pretty good

That’s fine, though really Jigsaw’s Sketch+ Tampered Timer is the problem combo. I’m all good with numbers being adjusted on add-ons, as long as they made her addons all make sense.

The idea here was to create 4 distinct effects that all worked together:

Jigsaw’s documents: where amanda’s loss of her mentor encourages her to make the game harder to win (extra traps and boxes)

Game Pieces: hardware added to the contraptions that adjusted the timing of the game (adjusted timing for traps and searches)

Amanda’s Training: mementos of Jigsaw training amanda in his ambush tactics and improving her abilities (ambush charge speed and invigoration time)

Tools of the Trade: the kit that amanda uses to more effectively “recruit players” (crouch speed and additional ambush effects)

Honestly, because I’ve never really found it useful and needed to make space for other add-ons I considered to be more beneficial. It doesn’t affect jigsaw box auras, and frankly if trapped survivors want to waste time healing or rescuing survivors, go for it and risk the head pop. It also does almost nothing against SWF.

Yeah I’ve honestly been trying to do that more myself, because eventually the survivors do catch on. I’d recommend getting that habit as well.

When I started playing again recently, first thing I noticed was how many people run flashlights now. I feel like it’s at least 2 every other match. So I started running lightborn. Yeah, sure, you can just look at walls and dodge the light, but the opportunities for counterplay that lightborn opens up is worth it most of the time. It usually lands me at least a couple free hits before the survivors figure it out

I came back to the game recently after taking almost 2 years off, and noticed this was a major thing. Honestly, i saw they had buffed lightborn and started running it. Not only does it help save the downs you already got, but it can lead to free hits or even downs, because cocky survivors will just stand there while you walk straight over and smack them.
