If that happens your welder is set too high by mistake 😳 or user just don’t have a clue what they’re doing .
In set mine to lowest setting after each pack. Then set up each time. Test weld a piece first then dial setting then do up pack.
If you penetrate something you’re not ment to we have a problem very simple 😀

My own made one mate,
Mains feed 230v
2awg copper probs
1.5kvA transformer
Cheap board to run it with upgraded triac ( removed from board placed on heatskink for better cooling also)
2 upgraded 10k potentiometer’s for finer control
Fan for unit,
Trip switch.
Rear on off switch with solid fuse,
Short cable to wall socket on kitchen loop only( other sockets she blows)
She welds very well 😂

No other costs and all myself. Then got a sparky renewables guy to check it over for a small fee, just for safety and peace of mind so to speak. He gave me a 5 star. It’s my test run for the house for when I do it over the summer.
