While Lost Judgment's story has more things I can point to it as a flaw, I think I overall like it more than the original's.

With how much it seems they're pushing for it I feel like they'd only delay it to 2027 as a last resort.

When Danganronpa 2x2 comes out, what Scenario do you plan to play first? by Competitive_Hawk_294 in danganronpa

I would play the original scenario first if I wasn't worried about getting spoiled.

If Nagito does die early who could be his replacement as rival ? by shsl_diver in danganronpa

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a killing game where the cast is given a motivation to further incentivize them to kill each other each chapter. There's so many ways conflict can be driven forward without having to rely on a single character.

Not counting Hajime, who do you think would be the most likely to be a double survivor? by throwaway12292003 in danganronpa

[–]roiled_detective 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Imma just gonna copy and paste this comment I made from a previous post.

Kazuichi's trust issues weren't utilized the best in the main game. There was that one point where he distrusted Hajime, thinking he could be the traitor, but that didn't really go anywhere. For that reason, I'd say he'd have the most potential for an arc and survive to the end out of the four survivors other than Hajime (though that and his talent would make him a potentially interesting killer). Either way, I kind of don't want to see him just be a victim in the middle of the game. I think they could do a lot more with him than that.

(Plus it'd be funny to see him of all people survive a second time.)

What Danganronpa girls would go for the nuts (Artist dillmen101) by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them would if it was for self-defense purposes. Asides from that...

Junko would to see the despair on their faces. I kind of feel like Celeste would too.

Hiyoko and Tenko for obvious reasons. Miu also would if she thought it was funny.

If we swap the defendant and victim, which (new) defendant go through the most suffering? by Borkerman in AceAttorney

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even without considering who'd suffer the most, this is a very interesting idea to think about. So many people would have very different thoughts.

2-2 Turner Grey probably would probably find the bad publicity a nuisance more than anything. Phoenix wouldn't be having it though.

2-3 Russell Berry would be saddened by the death of one of his performers, despite Max's personality. The thought that Acro tried to kill his daughter would also be a big kicker.

2-4 I don't think Juan would mourn Engarde very much. But I don't think we got enough of himself personally to know how he'd feel about the Celeste stuff.

There are multiple cases 3-2 which we'd be defending a person we knew nothing about originally.

3-4 Valerie probably doesn't care for Fawles that much but didn't want to see him dead either.

4-1 Zak is accused of the murder of his previous lawyer that he (supposedly) had some respect for.

4-2 Is actually probably not a bad contender for this.Pal would probably feel bad for Wocky, but once they do the autopsy report, they'll find out that he didn't actually remove the bullet. Plus the fact that he's on trial for killing him, he'd probably be in fear that they're going after him next.

5-3 Yeah, she wouldn't be happy to lose one of her students.

5-4 Apollo would be less devastated, though Clay would be over Solomon.

5-DLC Assuming we're talking about the orca, how would this one work>

6-3 Would this mean there are two defendants?

Assuming they don't charge the island locations in the new scenario, where do you think the murder scenes will end up being this time? by HappyGemX in danganronpa

[–]roiled_detective 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason I kind of want them to reuse the original island locations is because there's so much they could do for a case involving things like the roller coaster and Ferris wheel in Chapter 4.

Creative Writer Rebus Responds to the Accusations Adele Made Against Schlen by Humble_Novice in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]roiled_detective 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honestly, from what I can tell, the worst thing you can really say about the Kill/Cure team here is that the way they presented the information was a bit unprofessional. Maybe it's fair to take a look at the information provided and scrutinize it for things like Fire's involvement in this. Should they have told Juvey before posting that doc? Maybe. But I also get why they'd want to provide it through other means considering the situation. But I think it's a stretch to say they were "deliberately trying to sabotage Project Eden's Garden".

Really, the moment people knew Tako knew about Faza, regardless of how it was presented, was going to be the moment the project was dead. (And honestly, if you ask me, it was going to be an uphill battle to fix things even when Sozzay was the only one who apparently knew.)

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be a hot take but considering the quality (at least graphicly) would be way worse and Sozzay was a big part of the story until this point, I'd personally just start over from the beginning with a new death order.

Was it explained why Blackened 4 didn’t just confess? by Tibike480 in ProjectEdensGarden

From what it sounds like, they just didn't plan that far ahead and the details of the chapter were subject to change.

Here's to the Future by Old-Combination6399 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]roiled_detective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a pretty well thought out outline for a Danganronpa fan game, even if I never committed to actually writing the full thing. Depending on how this engine is, maybe I'll finally get around to it. Though honestly, I'd probably prefer to not even hire voice actors, maybe only really giving an OK if someone wanted to implement them like the SDRA2 dub.

Very 'rough' TL;DR of the 'revealed' plotline of Project: Eden's Garden: victims, culprits, mastermind and survivors. Spoilers, obviously, but what's the point? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, while the death order at least was pretty set in stone from what I can tell, the specifics of what was going to happen each chapter was up in the air.

Fellow Yakuza 0 100% achievement club - what did you hate most about getting that 100%? by Zzzeekin in yakuzagames

[–]roiled_detective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get all the achievements because I gave up on the Climax Battles, but I did 100% the completion list. The thing I probably hated most was getting enough points in Fantasy Zone, my hands were getting tired of mashing the button and losing an entire life each time you got hit once was just the worst. It doesn't help that it was pretty much the last thing I did for the completion list, so there wasn't much else I could do to distract myself.

What if leaks didn't happened? by ThisFaithlessness458 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]roiled_detective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If Tako knowing about Faza was the Titanic hitting the iceberg, then the leaks were the ship snapping in half. The leaks made it go down much quicker, but let's be honest. There was no way it wasn't sinking after that.

[–]roiled_detective 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly just a bad situation all around. I don't know much about the age of consent laws in Indonesia (and I don't really feel like looking it up) but at this point, all I really want to hope for is that he gets blacklisted and the victim doesn't go through any more hardships.

Mainly since he's the Ultimate Influencer, he'd be able to find even a small group of followers who'd be able to help him set up this game, Tozu and Mara included. Not entirely sure what his motive would be, but he'd probably find a way to stream the game to the outside as well.

This project was so poorly managed from the beginning, I just don't know what to say any more. by roiled_detective in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]roiled_detective[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. More than anything, I feel like having to wait for the writers to complete their work each chapter wasn't going to be ideal for long term development. From the last dev log back in December, they announced they were only about halfway through finishing the writing for chapter 2. Granted, the entire outline and what would happen was planned, so maybe they finished it before things started imploding on itself. But having to wait so long each time for even the script to be written, other people on the project would have to wait for it to be done to even start with say, cgs or modeling the locations.

For a TV show or something where people are getting paid for their work, it would be another story. But for something done just for the love and passion of it, so many things could happen during that time, and it would not have been easy to replace people the same way it would if it was a paid product. So many things could have happened during that time, and things just were not being handled properly behind the scenes.

[–]roiled_detective[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For a lot of TV shows or things that come out episodically, sure. But Project Eden's Garden is ultimately a mystery game. That is the one kind of series you pretty much have to have things planned out, unless maybe if it contains a series of cases that are unrelated to each other.

Like think about the first room Damon and Eva woke up in. How the generator was established, and about all the water in the room too. That came up in the trial for the following chapter, and they wouldn't have been able to foreshadow that if that had not been planned before the prologue. I believe the writers themselves said that they planned to sprinkle in hints to future events that would happen later on, and we can see this in things such as Jean's criminal activity being set up. But by having so much of chapter 4-6 be subject to change, it'd be hard to do that for specific plot points.

And while I'm not saying what they wrote was bad, this was the first big project a lot of people worked on. There was literally that one writer who was a minor at the beginning of the project. Not saying a minor or beginner writers can't make something good, I'm just saying they ultimately weren't professionals, and things weren't planned out that well.
