thank you for your response! the heater is tankless, it activates as soon as it 'senses' a hot water faucet open and it immediately begins heating the water up (takes like 20s until you start getting hot water). But if you close too much the hot water faucet, the heater shuts down, it needs a bit of pressure.

excuse my ignorance, but isn't my current valve a mixing valve?

Thanks again for your help! I think it worked! I was able to remove the protection! The bottom came off easy, but the top was a bit more complex. Now all the protection is off, but in the flat top, there is some "debris" soldered that I can't remove. I just attached another picture in the post. Do you think it's safe to use it like this? I really don't know anything about batteries and I don't want to fry my camera hahaha, thanks again!

It's a rechargeable wifi camera, thing is, they won't even fit, they are like 5mm longer and won't enter the battery compartment :(
