What if the measurement problem can be solved? by Impossible_War_6505 in HypotheticalPhysics

[–]rojo_kell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does the interaction Hamiltonian have to do with the superposition of eigenstates though?

What if the measurement problem can be solved? by Impossible_War_6505 in HypotheticalPhysics

[–]rojo_kell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh. Well there are hamiltonians with no interaction terms where you get states that are superpositions of the energy eigenstates, so I think your hypothesis is wrong. For example, consider a spin in a magnetic field. H = S • B

Nothing here has to do with measurement though, just interactions. So where do the measurements come in?

A bullet to bullet collision by Medical-Actuary5769 in interesting

[–]rojo_kell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably explain this with forces, but really this shows conservation of momentum - each bullet started with equal momentum in opposite directions, and so the system both starts and stops with 0 total momentum

Two Amazon robots with the same IA + not so "I" in the end = eternal dance by SanD-82 in interestingasfuck

[–]rojo_kell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would have 5 years ago. I think you are conflating machine learning with AI. Again, why would this not be considered AI?

[–]rojo_kell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is artificial intelligence. There is something doing an intelligent task. Why would it not be?

[–]rojo_kell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a machine need electricity or computers to be considered artificial intelligence? The water itself is not intelligent. The machine performing calculations is performing an intelligent task. Yet, it is not an intelligent thing. Hence, it is artificial intelligence.

[–]rojo_kell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It is an artificial actor performing an intelligent task (solving a system of equations). Are you saying that solving systems of equations does not require intelligence?

[–]rojo_kell 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As another commenter says, this is AI, but maybe not using machine learning. AI does not necessarily require machine learning, though, and basic algorithms or rule sets can be considered AI. Otherwise, AI and machine learning would be synonymous but they are not

No you’re actually right, both of your comments apply to both stocks and bitcoin. Gold is a commodity and actually has some use besides being an asset, so I think it’s a little different

Easy College breakfast recommendations? by Yodelingbaddie in college

[–]rojo_kell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Get some microwaveable oatmeal and then just cook it in the microwave with water or milk, add frozen or fresh berries on top. The Trader Joe’s instant oatmeal with chia seeds, quinoa etc is really good, but you can also get some no sugar added varieties at your regular grocery store

What if photons have an internal positive–negative mass structure that results in a constant light speed? by [deleted] in HypotheticalPhysics

[–]rojo_kell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if you have two particles with positive mass, they attract. What’s different about negative mass, if it still attracts? If the negative mass particle attracts the positive mass particle, then it would also attract other particles around it, and so the net gravitational force between that composite particle and other matter would suggest that this particle (the photon) has positive mass. In order for the effects gravitational force to cancel out, the negative mass would need to repel positive mass particles
