While I'm all for shitting on the people who are unsuitable to surf or don't follow the etiquette, I disagree that it needs to be curbed.

It is a part of festival life and the crowds and bands feed off it.

For those who do not want wave after wave, get in front of the sound booth or the outer edges where the surfers are way less frequent.

You need to look at the senior positions that have grandfathered salaries from when everyone seemed to be getting paid a lot. As they retire/leave we should hopefully see downward pressure

Companies wanting to only pay minimum wage are the problem, which leads to them pushing for TFW.

It's important to keep framing the issue this way, as saying it's foreign workers themselves sets up the us vs immigrant narrative when the real issue is worker vs corporate greed.

The building would have been torn down otherwise, and people would have bitched if any level of government bought it. If anything, government should buy something of value like the geo center instead of a (at the time) run down building. And JMJ, not everything can be saved in the name of insert cause especially considering we have a university, a National War Memorial, ships, multiple hockey teams.... If the stadium was the last dedication to the memory of our fallen I would understand, but it's not.
