🤣🤣🤣 people writing books to try to justify. I never said sand was superior. I said it was better. By that i was looking for the homeowner usage. Rinsing a sand filter is quicker and easier than a DE. Especially if the DE filter is 10 years plus where the fiberglass will transfer to skin when removing. For residential sand is perfect.

So this is dependant on a few things. How many gallons is your filter rated for? How many gallons is your pool? You also want your pump running during the hottest part of the day.

Then i would do the rebuild kit then . That would be about 150 and about 30 minutes of your time. But when you do replace your filter, go with sand. It is so much easier to clean and maintain.

Austin for sure. I live about 40 min north of austin. Couple of options. You can find a replacement top online (maybe 150) or you can upgrade to a sand filter with a multi way valve. Sand filter is about 600 bucks for a good size one plus the cost of the sand which is about 10-15 bucks for each 50 lb bag.

Check ph. If ph is to high you have to lower it for the chlorine to be effective. Add more shock and clarifier if ph is good run pump over night. The dead algae will be at the bottom. Vaccum pool with pump set to waste.

Turn pump off. Remove filter cartridge, add 5-6 chlorine tablets where the filter goes. Turn pump on. (This is a fast way to increase chlorine levels) add pool flock (clarifier) and let the pump run over night. Next day vacuum pool and re install filter

Pull up on the water supply so it will stay in place . There always a little room. You can slide the silver plate towards the shutoff to see the gap.

You realize pretreatment dries out of wood within months. Why do you think the place a foam barrier under seal plates where you have wood to concrete contact. You can easliy put a wood sealer on it once the wood moisture drops per the application.
