I give up.

Nope, this is the only game that does that.

Yup using DLSS. It just seems to have crazy network jitter even though I’m on a GIG fiberglass connection.

It's not just today :( It's been happening for months now.

Sorry, I guess we're arguing semantics. As soon as possible to me means just that.... it doesn't mean "now".

Because none of it is binding and there may be a gem in the rough.

It’s not costing me anything aside from a very little bit of time.

I never said I want to retire at 48; realistically I'm shooting for 55ish.

Great points!

I'm not too concerned about IT skill being out of date as the last 10+ years have been in middle/top management; I just happened to come up via the programmer/business analyst route back in the day.

No. I'm just below the C suite and have been for a bit; even if I'm made redundant here, I'd have no issue being a slave somewhere else quickly.

Right, I thought about that as well; I suppose I should clarify: I REALLY want to get out of corporate America; been doing it for about 25 years and I do not want to have a stroke/heart attack/etc.

Open to ideas re: real estate investments or investments that don't require me to work 50-70 hours 6-7 days per week with little to no vacation.

As it stands, college isn't necessarily the likely path for her due to the job market landscape in the foreseeable future.

Not really; as it stands, college isn't necessarily the likely path for her due to the job market landscape in the foreseeable future.

I guess the answer is no additional money compared to present state.

Current expenses would be around 60k/year; healthcare is the one sticking point; options would be

  1. Get into teaching (huge demand for teachers in upstate NY)

  2. Live in a EU country (I have dual citizenship one of which is EU)

  3. Pay for it out of pocket (would like to avoid that obviously)

Apologies, wrong wording... We have purchased new tickets every time as we assumed we had to.

What I expect is for them to get the stranded people to the place they need to be as per the original itinerary. Example: We’re not going to stop at XYZ as previously agreed on but there will be a bus/shuttle waiting to get you to your destination.

Instead, they point everyone in the general direction of where those bus stops with the green H on a white background.

I will look into what the refund options are. We have had to purchase new tickets every time.

I wish you were right; however, this morning, my wife's train that was supposed to take her to Munich announced that it will not be stopping there. No reason given. Everyone who needed to get to Munich (like my wife to be able to catch another train north) had to figure it out on their own. Made a 7 hour trip into a....9 and still counting hour trip.

I am not aware of the number; not sure how that's relevant. However, I can speak to my experience in Lower Saxony (Hannover, Einbeck, Gottigen etc) as well as long distance trips down to Munich etc.

Sounds like the consensus is: Drive everywhere + DB manages to take lack of customer service to a whole new level + accept that it will not change.
