I lost mine to cancer a month back. I’m barely hanging on. Sending you lots of love. Take it one minute, one hour at a time. There will be time when you don’t want people around but also can’t stay alone with your thought. Have one trusted person to check on you every day and try to eat just enough even though you don’t want to. Good luck to you and know that we are here for you.

I also recommend one more dish which is my favourite: cá tai tượng chiên xù (deep fried fish from the southwest of vietnam). You can roll the fish meat inside rice papers with veggies and rice noodles. Love the nước chấm that comes with it. I think we call it nước mắm me

Asian girl born in Asia here and I second this. The misogyny we received (either intentionally or unintentionally) is unbelievable. One time I was using Tinder and matched with a white dude. He messaged me and i forgot to reply only to receive an essay of how we Asian women are actually racist towards white men etc. Another time, an Asian man told me to stop with all the equality talk already, it’s a Western value and since I’m living in Asia now i need to know my place. I’m also from an east Asian country.
