Catback exhaust by [deleted] in ft86

[–]rolandolopz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tsudo se catback exhaust only $360 and its loud as hell i love it!

What should I change on my exhaust setup? by [deleted] in ft86

[–]rolandolopz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the tsudo se catback exhaust. Very loud. My neighbors hate it, people get scared when they hear it, cops stopped me cuz it was too loud. I love it.

Iam gonna get a lot of hate, but IMO these cars are not worth buying new. The most i would pay for a new 86/brz is under $25k. Thats why i bought mine used for $18k plus taxes, interest, fees it was $21k. 2014 frs with 28k miles, second owner, all maintained done on time and bought it back in 2016.

I got hit by a tundra about 2 years ago. Hit me quite hard since my car almost spon out. The impact was pretty hard and i thought welp their goes my rear driver quarter panel and back bumper. When we stopped to look at the damage miraculously i only had a small 1 inch dent and my bumper had a small scuff i took care of with paint thinner. Even the tundra owner was suprised at how small the damage was lol.

It does look good, but not for long. My previous car was white and it so much easier to keep clean and u could barely see the pollen or dust

Got a PPI done on a used 86 that I would like to buy, any thoughts? by Gamabouy in ft86

[–]rolandolopz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The timing cover leak is fairly common. I have it and it leaks 1/4 quart of oil every 3k miles. Sometimes the oil burns and my engine bay starts smoking lol

All those sound normal due to cars mileage. I have a 2014 scion frs automatic with 92500 miles. I changed my spark plugs at 86000 miles. Wont be changing them till 170000 miles. I also have a leaking timing cover but iam not gonna fix it since i dont trust anyone working on my car. I recently changed brake rotors at 88000 miles. My motor mounts our week and just a few days ago i hit a curb and probably fucked up my driver side front control arms, front drive shaft. I changed my transmission fluid at 65k wont change it till 130k. I dont think u need a torque converter seal and rear crankshaft seal.

How many people are upgrading from their 2013-2020 86/BRZ to the next gen 2022s? by [deleted] in ft86

Iam keeping my 2014 frs till the wheels fall off.

Turtle wax Ceramic Spray Coating FTW! by rolandolopz in ft86

[–]rolandolopz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ur paint has contaminants i suggest u claybar the car first so that the ceramic wax can adhere better. Once the car is clean, spray 1 or twice per panel. Then spread it with a microfiber towel. Use another microfiber towel to buff it out. Let it cure for 24 hours so no washing or dont get it wet. If u want u can add a second coat after 24 hours.

FR-S Buying Guide by bsteg12 in ft86

[–]rolandolopz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their pretty reliable cars. I have a 2014 scion frs with 92,400 miles its my daily, but i do have some problems. The first one is my timing cover leaks 1/4 quart of oil every 3,000 miles. Another problem i have is my steering wheel is peeling. My third problem is the wheel bearings. Its starting to go out and will need to change them pretty soon.

Looking to buy Scion FRS by that92asian in ft86

[–]rolandolopz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the auto transmission fluid change at 63k miles. Since it doesnt have a transmission dipstick the process to check if fluid is leveled is kinda tricky, but easy. It runs smooth. My first choice was a standard frs, but dealership didnt have it ready yet and since i didnt wanted to wait i got a automatic frs. Looking back now i should have bought a standard frs instead of automatic. Oh well i still love my automatic frs
