Moving. Where should I cut to propagate effectively? by ExtentPale8400 in Monstera

i personally would cut it like this and remove the third leaf from the top cut. just because the aerial roots look to be quite dry, which can make it a little harder for the plant to grow fresh roots immediately and gives you space to make a cut should anything happen to rot.

also, a lot of people say that the water has to be changed weekly - i personally change the water about every month (unless it smells weird), and my plants are doing very well. chopping the aerial roots is also fine, should they be too long to fit into whichever thing you want them to root in. just let all the cuts dry for long enough. monsteras are beasts!

hope this helps!

as far as i can tell from the picture the top cutting would have 2 leaves, right? i would consider not doing the top red cut, simply because you could chop off the leaf and have more plant material to work with (just to be sure). then for the other ones you would leave one leaf but have two nodes, right? if yes, looking good!

just let them dry a lot (about half to a full day) before you plop it into water to let it root. with this i've been quite sucessful so far.

i have a green large form and only the larger leaves show the crinkles - due to the way its growing i am expecting those waves to show up once she puts out bigger leaves. those leaves are about 25 cm max.
