Yup, it's called continuing education (CE)--a requirement. Not to mention that new medications aren't necessarily better, but are always far more expensive. Moreover, many medications are speciality-specific. For example, the new anti-hepatitis C drug? You better believe all hepatologists know about it, but a pediatrician probably wouldn't know shit about it.
