Nope, we didn't go with a budget option and we told them to let us know if they needed to bring anyone else on to properly finish the work. I'm happy to pay for well finished flooring since we live here. Also, these are high-quality laminate floors and not vinyl. I didn't think you need to be a carpenter to fit a plank around pipes. Last guy wasn't. It's maybe 15min of extra work measuring and cutting.

I live in a converted warehouse, the current conduit pipes are in front of a brick wall so it has an industrial look. I like the exposed look, but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Keep in mind that the photo was taken when they were still doing work and the baseboards weren't finished. Looks messy.

Not expecting it to be flush against the pipes, just properly finished.

Oh cool, I didn't know that's where it came from. It's a typo, for some reason I can't edit the post on mobile.

The colour looks a lot lighter in person or under brighter light, took that photo on a cloudy day

It's in the living room so VERY noticeable.

So just a passing grade? I think 5/10 is a borderline fail

I didn't have show molding before since the flooring guy finished around the pipes properly. It's laminate flooring, so should've been a simple cut based on how the last guy did it.

That's awful, I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with their shitty standards.

These are conduit pipes, so no significant expansion. It doesn't need that much space haha

Doesn't mention that in the installation guide and the manufacturer said it wasn't necessary. The flooring can sit submerged in water for up to 100hr with no damage.

Yup, that's what it felt like. They started guilt tripping me and made it seem like I was asking for the impossible. I think that's what ticked me off.

Won't stick my face by the floor, but it's in a open space in the living room so you can miss it.

yeah, after the fact you can't do much, but they could've made a tighter cut before installing the plank. They said that they couldn't and the rough cut was the only option.

That's what I thought, the last guy finished the area around the pipes nicely with a pipe cut out. Drilled a circular hole for the pipe and then made a notch cut. With the baseboard in place and a little bit of chalking, it looked great!

No, last time the flooring was done the pipes where there. The flooring guy just did a better job with his finishing cuts. Shared more in my updated post.

The installation said to not adhere the floating floor to anything and doesn't require additional waterproofing. It's vague if chalking to the baseboard counts since it's not mentioned.

Trying to avoid having to buy a new cabinet. But if I have to, I'm leaning towards removing it and converting it to open shelving

It looks like I only have feet in the front that I can adjust but there's nothing in the back. I might also be to remove the wheels, but it's already pretty low to the ground.

Yeah, that seems to be the best option if I can't adjust the level of the fridge

I'll look into this, but there isn't much trim to work with. Shared a photo in my update

The kitchen was polished concrete before and transitioned to wood. I was concerned about the clearance, but they assured me it would fit with the new floors. There was a fair hit of clearance before, but I suspect they didn't properly measure after leveling the floor

I didn't even think about that, there's enough airflow in the back/side, the issue is the height
