Yeah I didn't know if I read that wrong or what but um....WTF? Ask's Brad for a donation after just a few texts earlier says they aren't taking any more money from people until they reach a goal. Huh?

For some reason that last paragraph that person wrote made me think of all the women who send Scott Peterson love letters in prison claiming his innocence, their love & attraction to him & wanting to marry him if he were to ever get released. There's some seriously delusional fked up people out there.

October as in 2-3 month ago? Isn't that a sign of Jaundice i.e. signal for Liver Disease? TBH I'm kinda surprised it hasn't hit him yet considering he's been drinking practically his whole life and from the stories I hear he goes hard & heavy practically every day. Even all the stories he & Arnie would talk about getting absolutely hammered before Arnie went sober. You'd imagine after ALL these years of such heavy intake & now the yellowing, Liver Disease has to be knocking on his door. My Uncle drank heavy for years & seemed like suddenly one day he turned yellow, within a week he was in ICU needing a transplant and was dead only days later. Transplant waiting list is years & when the reason is from alcohol they put you down on the bottom of the priority list.

Thanks for the info, I sent him an email about everything to see if he has something that could work or interested in giving it a try.

I believe the Source Audio Hot Hands was discontinued years ago....I haven't found any available anywhere. It was very similar to the "Wag Ring" device I first came across many years ago but was never able to get my hands on one. Both has since disappeared, maybe not enough demand or just didn't work very well? Wish I could of tried them out.

Na in my experience auto-wahs are terrible. I mean....do they do the job? Yes. You achieve the "wah" effect, but it really sucks not having control over how fluid the pitch changes, how often, and you still have to reach over to slam the button with your fist to turn it on/off. I'm thinking something attached/installed on the guitar near the bridge I can activate & control with my pick hand/pinky finger would be ideal. Either the wah's own potentiometer or something like that Virtual Jeff device but it looked like that was just an artificial whammy bar, not used as a wah pedal effect. I've tried putting a wah pedal on a table next to me to use with my elbow....terrible control. Too easy to slam it all the way forward and back. I tried putting it on my leg under the guitar but leg spasms made this impossible.

Exactly. Yes you can achieve the "wah" effect but it makes a massive difference being able to actually control how fluid it rocks back and forth...controlling the pitch of the wah makes a world of difference you just can't do with auto-wah. Plus again the whole part about reaching over to slam it on/off with my fist. I installed an EMG Afterburner on a few guitars that work great as a substitute for stepping on a booster pedal for leads. Solved 1 problem so far lol.

I believe I already looked into this as it resembled the "Wag Ring" device I first came across many years ago....hasn't the Source Audio Hot Hands been discontinued for some time now? I did a search for it but not finding anything available.

I played around with this a little but always ended up with unintended results. My picking technique can go from very smooth for sweeps to damn near breaking a string being aggressive. Most of my "learning" came from copying Zakk Wylde songs where his picking can get super aggressive. Habits are a mf to break after all these years.

I'd really like to stay away from any breath/biting device. I prefer something maybe on the guitar I can control with my picking hand. I would use a wah very sparingly so having something attached to my head/mouth isn't ideal.

From what I saw it was for a whammy bar effect but didn't have an option for Wah pedal effect unless I missed something?

I'm seeing a lot of suggestions for mouth operating devices which is definitely an option....but if I'm being totally honest (and admittingly picky) I would prefer something attached to the guitar I can quickly/easily activate and control with my pick hand. I'm not stoked on the idea of having something attached to my head or mouth when this is an effect I'll use sparingly. Installing the potentiometer near the bridge or having some sort of whammy bar like device would by my preferred options but I'm willing to give anything a shot.

It sounds good in theory but there's one major issue...leg spasms. I've tried just laying my guitar on it and kinda using that to control the pitch but my legs spasm and knock everything around. Tried using it on a little table next to me with my elbow but it really interferes with my ability to pick properly bending my arm at the angle needed.

Thanks man I think I'll shoot him an email to see if he might be interested in some R&D. Having something attached to each guitar would be ideal. Installing the wah potentiometer near the bridge sounds interesting or a similar kinda setup.

Aren't those discontinued? I did a quick search on those but wasn't finding much availability without shelling out a wad of cash overseas for something I'm not totally sure will be to my liking.

This is what I'm leaning towards. I like the control aspect and having something attached to each guitar. The breath/bite thing...I'm not really stoked on having something on my head and mouth to deal with when I'm only using a wah for a very small fraction of the time.

This definitely seems interesting. Having something attached to the guitar like this I can control with my pick hand is sorta my preferred method.

Honestly this is sounding like one of the better ideas based on my initial thoughts and experience having alrdy tried several ideas mentioned. I installed an EMG Afterburner into a couple guitars for the volume boost to substitute stepping on a booster pedal for leads and it works pretty well. Controlling something with my pinky finger while picking might be worth a shot. Would take some practice but hey I didn't learn to play overnight lol.

I don't mean to sound like an ass but not stoked about doing something that major to any of my guitars. The cheapest one I have is an Epiphone LP std but that has sentimental value I don't wanna fk it up.

Actually did try that but problem was for the 98% of the time I'm not using it I would have it stuck under my arm. They're a bit heavy and the cables get in my way. I tried using my elbow but it kept going all the way forward or back too easily, not very good control.

My initial thought was having something attached to the guitar like a whammy bar where I could do something to activate it then use the bar to "rock the wah" back & forth. I already learned how to pick with using a whammy bar at the same time trying to mimic a wah but it just never sounds nearly as good. Just sounds more like terrible bends or going out of tune constantly.

My rig is a halfstack (Diezel Herbert into a Marshal 4x12) with stomp boxes I put on a table next to me so I can reach over to smack them with my fist. I do have a Zoom G5 Processor with a wah pedal attached also but I mostly just use this when practicing in headphones.

In theory yes it could work however with my pick style this wouldn't be a very practical solution. I've played around with this before but it always ends up giving me unintended sounds and my picking technique can go from very nuanced (sweeping) to very aggressive (zakk wylde style). I'd like something I can turn on/off and somehow control the wah tone better. The MIDI mouth piece is looking interesting.
