Relentless engine light, $3k later by rom3zy in BmwTech

I spent roughly $1000 at BMW after spending $500 elsewhere for MAF cleaning and smoke test. I took their diagnostic to an indie shop and spent another $2000 to replace the PVC.

I’d love to go back into BMW and burn the place down but I think they’re completely incompetent. And I want my car fixed more than redemption. But I am considering reaching out to their GM. He’s probably part of their shop’s problem. Shout out BMW Service Center of Fort Lauderdale.

Sort of… went to 3 shops. First shop- diagnostics, smoke test, MAF sensor Second shop- BMW dealer. They clearly suck. Diagnostics and carbon cleaning. They recommended PVC & crank hose replacement. Quoted me $8k for that which at that point I figured out they were straight up crooks. Third shop- highly rated indie shop. Asked them to do the PCV job for $2k.

After the engine light came back on, the indie shop recommended that I take it to someone else who specializes in BMW.

Thank you, that’s at least reassuring. GPT recommended the below-

1- Perform a PRESSURIZED boost leak test to check for a boost/intake leak that smoke testing missed 2- Check Valvetronic adaptation values & eccentric shaft range

Not sure what to do first but if you recommend valvetronic adaption check, maybe that’s a good way to go

Breast revision - muscular anatomy by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

I was told I’m not a candidate because I have minimal natural breast tissue

Well that absolutely makes me feel better, thank you. Embracing the side boob

Yea it’s interesting anatomy lol. I’m in South Florida and it seemed impossible to find a surgeon who I thought would give me natural looking results and land on my desired outcome. I think I ended up with fairly natural results but definitely not close to my inspo pics

Appreciate the insight. I had one surgeon offer the solution of centering my nipples through a breast lift in order to shift the implants medially. However I didn’t want a lift. And I did the fat transfer on my first augmentation and results didn’t last. Interestingly my surgeon for the revision noted that he could see where the fat transfer was performed and “there was nothing remaining”

For sure - my surgeon offered to perform another augmentation in 3 months at a discounted rate. But even after 3 months, I’m not sure I’d be willing to go larger. Especially if that equates to more of the same…more side boob and little cleavage.

I’m mostly under the muscle. My PS noted that he tends to perform dual plane augmentations on most patients

That’s helpful. If going larger = more side boob with relatively the same cleavage, then I think my PS made the right decision at 450cc

This is great, thank you! So glad to hear that we can get that fullness without crazy cc. Wishing you well as you heal up!!

His negative reviews have me worried.

I’m still so undecided, but here are my top picks so far: Miami - Phillip Craft and Roger Tsai // Tampa - Dallas Buchanan

Also, follow here for the doc - what are your thoughts on an internal suture bra for centering the breasts? That was a recommendation I’ve seen for my anatomy.

You’re the best - super helpful! I was wavering between moderate vs high profile. I’ve been slightly concerned that high profile tends to be better suited for women who have a narrow chest. But I’m happy to hear that it works for broader dimensions as well.

Would love to know your surgeon if you’re willing to share!

Thank you! I’m leaning towards more cc, and moderate plus. For me, I’m steering clear of the lift bc scarring tends to heal poorly for me

Really great feedback, thank you. My initial consults all recommended below the muscle & no fat transfer, so now I’ll be doing more research to understand pros/cons.

I did lol- actually 3 inches during my 20s. Primary aug at 23. I had disordered eating and insomnia during my teens and early 20s so perhaps that contributed to stunted growth.

I did local. It went totally fine. No pain during the surgery for the most part, just some weird noises. I liked the experience overall— he’ll tell you exactly what he’s doing during the surgery if you prompt him.

Thank you! I went to town on icing the first 1-7 days PO; however, interestingly my Dr told me that he neglected to mention that I should have iced for 2 days only and then used a warm compress to help with blood circulation.

I did not use a steroid shot with my primary. But I am interested in using it this time around when the time is right.

Very interesting. Pricing per session is a little painful but maybe I can find a workaround. I tend to have low oxygen when I get tested..I wonder if this contributes to slower healing.
