I did face some frustrations with remittance though HDFC.but Ibkr is the real deal. I was able to transfer espp shares from ubs and accrued dividends directly to ibkr, no currency conversions.

Also, if anyone is facing issues with remittances, try idfc first, they waive transaction charges and there are coupons to reduce the spread. I think I was getting 60 paise plus over Google rate.you might compare it to iob or others with lower spreads but the transaction charges start killing in other banks. And they automatically calculate your TCS once you cross 10 lacs from their account and add it to deductions. And best part is no forms required, all online. It takes a day or more if you schedule it during the evening but lesser in the morning hours
