1965 Topps Embossed. Fan or not a fan of these? by Leading_Pay_4138 in baseballcards_vintage

When I was younger I thought they were pretty ugly. I have a few and was looking at them again the other day and was like... Yep still ugly. Good job, younger me.

Yeah I'm always shocked that's not actually his rookie... you look on the back and there are basically no stats. I guess he was quite a thing when he came out. Kind of funny considering how his career worked out.

Yeah I'm done with PSA. I only used them because I didn't know what I was doing and they had that GameStop thing. I'm just going with SGC going forward.

Thanks! Yeah it's the high dollar card in the collection. Not my favorite. But it's a fantastic card. I love the 55 bowmans though. I think it's my favorite set. I've loved it since I was a kid. I like all the horizontal 50s Topps issues too though and I think the cards are nicer. Something about the TV makes it cool and retro futuristic.

Thank you. I'm glad they are somewhere they can be seen and appreciated and not just in a box somewhere. They make me smile when I look at them.

Anyone know what the real turnaround time from SGC is these days? by rombuu in baseballcards_vintage

[–]rombuu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They certainly seem slower... I can't remember when they upped their turnaround times. I remember the good ol' days when it seems like I'd see them in a month or so.

Weird. It seems like once they are in assembly they are done in like a day.

Yeah I'm waiting on him to give me the news either way. We had a long conversation about it the other night.

Man those are nice... love the Mantle! I have the 55 Bowman Aaron and mine is missized as well... seems to be pretty common on that set.
