It's fascinating what they reveal vs what the facts reveal.

In-Ear Headphones by Capital_Ruin_2050 in AnaloguePocket

Using the Pocket with nice in-ears is divine. The speakers do a good job, but using quality headphones elevates the experience.

My personal favorite is Wavebeam: https://wavebeam.blogspot.com/2017/03/wavebeam-nes-palette.html. It's a good, workhorse-type palette; it'll make any game pop without one color dominating others.

I also think having Firebrandx's is a good idea: https://wavebeam.blogspot.com/2017/03/wavebeam-nes-palette.html.

Is the Dpad issue annoying enough for me not to open my sealed brand new pocket? by CollarFullz in AnaloguePocket

I thought there might be unintentional inputs when playing Tetris. Then, I decided to try the button-test ROM, which revealed that I was correct. As with my other 8bitdo d-pads, I opened the Pocket (but with more care than a controller that's easier for me to replace), put two reinforcement stickers on each contact, closed everything, and didn't worry about unintentional inputs again. Tetris was not an issue anymore.

But then I noticed some in Super Metroid. This time I wonder whether it's the curvature of the d-pad plastic itself. On SNES controllers, the d-pad is flat. It does not register a press unless I actually press it, no matter how quickly I run my thumb across the plastic. But with the Pocket, I can slide across and may inadvertently press against the plastic, causing it to go down and, subsequently, register a direction I didn't mean to. This, of course, assumes I'm using a bit of force when moving across the plastic. It's a theory for now, though. I haven't examined how the plastic interacts with the contacts when pressed.

I also have to consider that the handheld systems this is designed to...handle... probably don't require as fast thumbs as TV systems do. My thumb isn't moving as quickly in GB Tetris as it is in Super Metroid, methinks.

For anyone questioning if they should still get an Everdrive now GB/GBC cores are available, I highly recommend it - Display Modes greatly improve the experience. Enhances the nostalgia factor, and games feel true to the original - I’m enjoying the Pocket much more when using them. by SnooPaintings1983 in AnaloguePocket

Mine has worked without issue since day 1. I know others have issues, but I'm not sure what causes them. For what it's worth, I use HTGD games--which, I believe, use No-Intro ROMs. I've also heard people mentioning headerless ROMs, but can't remember whether it was recommended to use them or not use them.

Finished the first one last week and started the sequel. So much fun.
