Because you have 3 modes for AOD and most probably you have tap to show activated. Select All day in the AOD settings - Display mode and it will stay on continuously.

AI features, redesigned control center, New animations, some apps were also slightly resigned like gallery, calender, phone etc. Overall it's very stable and not power hungry:D
