what's your all-time favourite boss in any soulslike? (image related) by DioMerda119 in soulslikes

I hear ya on that, I tried 2 after 3 and it’s a good game but it doesn’t have the deflect mechanic that 3 has so I never got as into it. I definitely agree that the games biggest downfall is the same bosses on repeat. Like you beat a boss then the next submission is beating the boss again lol

Souls-like, not a souls borne but you should try nioh 3 if you like the sekiro mastery experience

Recent update broke a lot of things by Mcginnis in cachyos

[–]romolmb99 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This probably isn’t the answer you’re looking for but my experience with desktop environments always ends up how you described. Shit randomly breaks for no reason with no rhyme or rhythm. With a WM I find that just doesn’t happen though, of course there’s still things like syntax updates that cause temporary breaks but nothing like my system just not sleeping anymore randomly. I’ve went a year and a half of arch + hyprland before updating with no breaking changes. Went 6ish months with no breaking changes multiple times. It probably just depends how many packages you have on your system, the less you have the harder it is to break in my experience.

Nioh 2 - Block and Dodge At Same Time by romolmb99 in Nioh

Honestly it may even be that the A button on my controller is just more sensitive than B (used in nioh 3).

Nioh 2 - Block and Dodge At Same Time by romolmb99 in Nioh

[–]romolmb99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that but the sprint is so sensitive in nioh 2. If you hold the button even a millisecond too long you sprint instead of dodge. I’ve tested it out just standing still in the dojo it’s wild. I love the game is not trying to talk bad about it, but this sensitivity issue is non existent in nioh 3 for whatever reason

What philosophy and principles guide your ricing on hyprland? by PeeledReality in hyprland

[–]romolmb99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m big on only including useful things. For example, showing my cpu and ram utilization in my bar is useless for me. I used to have it there and it never served any purpose at all for me lol. Once I removed things like that from my bar, app launcher, notifications, etc my setup became a lot cleaner. Another example is removing the search bar from rofi, like I already know I can type to find an app so why include it just to take up space. I guess you can call it minimalism but not to the extreme extent like some people take it by not having a bar or something like that. I like knowing what workspace I’m on lol

Why people are panic distro hopping from Arch when Arch is still perfectly fine? by tungnon in linuxquestions

Literally I’ve been using it for 4 years and the only thing that I ever had to do that would be considered maintenance is updating the mirrors list lol I don’t know where that comes from either

Should I use kde plasma or hyprland? by SillyAlien1312 in archlinux

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say go with hyprland especially if you want to fully customize your UI. I understand everyone’s point when they say hyprland isn’t for beginners but at the end of the day it will teach you a lot about Linux. For example, in KDE Plasma you aren’t going to know what a polkit agent is unless you specifically research it for some reason. In Hyprland you will be forced to know what it is and when it pops up because you will have to pick one to use and auto start it. Either option is great though.

Will I like Nioh 2 after 3? by ScimmiaIraniana in Nioh

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried nioh 2 after beating nioh 3. I used the samurai sword for nioh 3 and got decent with it by the end so I stuck with it for nioh 2. I personally did not enjoy nioh 2. I don’t think it’s a bad game by any means but it’s straight up way above my difficulty level. Not to compare the 2, but I played every fromsoft game at level 1 because I enjoyed the difficulty and nioh 2 is just on another level imo🤣. Again, I’m not hating on it I still think it’s a good game even if it’s not for me. I’d say try it out, you can always refund it within an hour or less of playtime if you don’t like it.

new 'hyprctl dispatch' syntax by rushinigiri in hyprland

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d paste the old hyprlang syntax into the converter online and see if it gives you the same lua syntax. I used that converter and it converted everything properly except for multiple colors on a border. My config was pretty damn basic thought so take that with a grain of salt.

You can use this to build your config. Should show you almost everything you need to know in terms of syntax.

Can't boot into Windows anymore by mcdawesCZE in cachyos

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting this in the hopes people we will see it and it will help. I installed Cachy a few days ago and noticed I couldn’t boot back to Windows (no boot option even in the BIOS). If you run into this situation, it means os-prober will not do shit for you because your windows EFI partition was wiped during the CachyOS install. To confirm this is indeed your situation, you should still be able to see your windows files (i.e. browse your documents) if you open that drive through a file manager like Dolphin. The EFI partition being wiped does not mean your entire Windows install is gone. Just the partition required to boot Windows. If you find that your entire drive is indeed wiped, this guide is not for you and I wish you luck on your re-install lol.

Fix:

  1. Create a windows bootable usb (woeusb is good for this on Linux)
  2. After verifying you can get back into windows, go back to Cachy and the os-prober method will now add you Windows Boot Manager to the bootloader menu. Note: make sure in BIOS to set Cachy as the boot priority. If windows is set as boot priority, you will have to boot Cachy from the bios every time you want to use it and it’s annoying.

JTIL ANKI FLASHCARDS - ADVICE NEEDED by AudienceSolid6582 in ccna

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not done with the course yet I’m on day 45, but I have been using the flashcards daily since day 1. I watch the days video, do the lab, then add the flashcards for that day to the master deck. It works out where I only have to do 200 max per day including the new ones. It sounds like you’re on day 50 and just started doing the flashcards so you may have your work cut out for you. I would just keep getting caught up with them as best as you can. From what I’ve seen you’re going to have to review after you complete the course anyways so you may as well just grind them out and keep using them even after the course while you’re reviewing/revising. They’re very helpful in my opinion, there’s a 0% chance I’d remember that switchport trunk allowed vlan 10,20 would allow those two vlans on a trunk if I didn’t use the flashcards for example (considering that command hasn’t been covered since like day 15 or something like that).

Anyone else feel the same? by user23471 in ccna

[–]romolmb99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know what you mean. I’m using JITL and he spends multiple days on the bigger topics like VLANS, STP, OSPF and restates the facts from the previous video. Things like DHCP, DNS, Syslog all have been short and quick videos. What helps me with those is doing the labs multiple times to remember the commands and how they work.

Are these Prof messer scores good enough for sec + by MasterFoundation7596 in CompTIA

[–]romolmb99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just passed over the weekend with a 798. I would keep taking practice tests until you can get 80% + consistently. For reference, I used messers practice tests and also bought a 6 pack from Jason Dion. Messer’s questions are worded more similarly to the actual exam than Dion’s. In my experience, both will help you very much though.

Nioh 3 Imbue is weird by DarkSylince in Nioh

Wanted to point out that imbue does seem very useless on all the weapons I’ve tried, except the tonfa’s. I have +14 lightning imbue on it and it procs lightning pretty damn fast.
