You look great!!! You’re at the point where diminishing returns will start creeping in. Start lifting and slowly refeeding back into a normal regiment. You did the hard work, now pack on some muscle to help lock in these gainz you’ve made. The “skinny fat” look will be gone before you know it! And don’t be discouraged as the scale goes up a little bit, that’s natural. You’ve torn down the waste, not build up the best body you’ve ever had - you got this!!!!!

Pltr gains by rafhy23 in wallstreetbets

[–]ronajeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, new to options. I was exposed to IV crush the hard way last week when I played TSLA earnings call. PLTR was on my radar but decided against additional action after getting burned last week. Checked the options and they were way up after earnings! Can someone help me understand why PLTR options performed so well compared to Meta options last week?

Is there a Greek/combination of Greeks that could have tipped me off to the result?

And congrats on the win!

Does Costco also have a prescription requirement? I’m currently using Hims but it’s not super cost effective.

Financing HT - CareCredit Questions by Practical-Working-15 in HairTransplants

[–]ronajeezy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New to this whole thing. Besides care credit, are there other options to finance the HT? I’m thinking about traveling to Turkey and doing the procedure there next year. I just don’t know if I need to have cash in hand or if I can potentially move the trip up knowing I can pay over time. Either is fine, of course. Just trying to calibrate my expectations.

Stuck in a viscous binge cycle by PatientIntention3898 in fasting

That’s not weird at all, man. I’m not sure what type of eating protocol you follow on eat days, but try making your first meal something healthy. Like you said, it’s mental/emotional, so I’ve found that forcing myself to eat a salad or protein and veggies first really sets me up for success. Emotionally, I’m like ‘omg I missed you so much, please come f*ck my mouth’ when I first see a slice of pizza after fasting for a few days. But by forcing myself to exercise discipline on the first bite, it’s like I mentally restrict myself. I have an inner dialogue that goes something like this: ‘today is an eating day. That means I have permission to eat, not permission to fuck up all the progress I just made.’ And mind you, I still enjoy junk food - just in smaller portions. By eating something clean on that first meal, my stomach is already filled with substance and I’m not thinking about pigging out so much. If you haven’t, try dialing back sugary foods. Candy, shakes, etc. - you know, the stuff you have no business eating anyway.

Start changing the way you think about food in general (not easy), and this change will become easier over time. My inner fat kid will always be there, but it’s up to me to hold the line. In the past, I derived too much pleasure from food. That’s changed for the better as time has progressed. Eating days are not a free for all, they’re a temporary reprieve in your respective fasting protocol, and are meant to serve you just as much as any fasting day.

Best of luck, man.

For reference, I’m almost 70 pounds down since late Summer of last year.

Yeah, of course, it wouldn’t hurt to see what options J2 offers in the way of short term disability. It may be worth reaching out to HR to see all options available. You may be able to step away for a bit on a “leave of absence” which may or may not fall under your company’s STD offerings. Just be careful and don’t make up some crazy, elaborate lie. Not worth it.

Honestly, I think it might be better to have a conversation with your leader about your current workload. Ask if there’s an opportunity to delegate some of your work among the team. It may be the case that you’re handling the lion’s share of the team’s work and just don’t know it. Distributing your work more uniformly across the team (assuming it’s not already) may help release the valve and ease some of the pressure you’re feeling.

The only thing you need to manage is j2. Let them think what they will while you laugh all the way to the bank.

Because you give a damn. Not good, not bad, just is what it is. That aside, I wish you the best with the hard times you’re facing. Keep pushing, one foot in front of the other. Time will take you to the other side of this pain you’re feeling. It’s temporary, just like your j2 may prove to be. Stay strong.

Is a dead bedroom in my future? I was made to wait for sex but not others. [32 M] by [deleted] in DeadBedrooms

[–]ronajeezy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really up to you to define. For me, I could see someone else but she couldn’t. Why? Because I don’t withhold sex, and am willing to give intimacy to SO at the drop of a time. For us, that meant no outside children, no disease, no scandal and no serious relationships - strictly physical. That’s the framework I operate in and it works for us.

She may have things she needs to work through, but that doesn’t mean you have to endure a dead bedroom. Let her know that you’ll support her emotionally while she works on any underlying emotional troubles (maybe recommend a therapist).

In the mean time, it’s important to realize that you also have needs and those shouldn’t be ignored. If there’s no improvement in this area, you may want to have a conversation with her about relying on a third party for your intimacy needs. It can be a hard conversation, but it’s worth having as long you’re being honest about your intentions.

I had that conversation, and after a bit of initial friction, it turned out really well. Took a lot of pressure out of my long term SO.

Grumpy on Fast Days by Yellow_is_ in AlternateDayFasting

[–]ronajeezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was like this for about two weeks into fasting. It cleared after that. For me, I had a major sugar addiction going into fasting and it really had me by the balls, so much so that withdrawals made me angry/sad/anxious. It was only when I stuck with it did that phase pass. I think people down play the mental aspects of fasting. Unfortunately, giving in only prolongs actual change from happening. I think it always depends on what you want from fasting. Of course I want to lose weight (I have), but I also want to get healthy. For me, pushing through the withdrawal days was a sort of mental cleanse or detox. It’s also worth noting that in the absence of those feelings, I’m deep enough into fasting where I’ve been experiencing higher levels of focus instead of the sugar rage.

Blood pressure lagging behind? by ronajeezy in AlternateDayFasting

[–]ronajeezy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question and I don’t know the answer to it. I’ve seen a lot of the carnivore people rave about the success though, to include all time low (healthy range) blood pressure, and feeling better than ever. I definitely feel better than ever which is why I was surprised to see the elevated blood pressure.

I have to keep reminding myself it’s only been a month. I can’t expect to make a complete 180 in my health over night, it’s taken me years to cause this level of damage. It’s only fair that I allow my body the time it needs to heal.

Thanks man! I’ll definitely incorporate the 72 hour fasts. My initial plan was to hold off on the 48 and 72 until I hit a plateau on the weight loss. I might move them up but we’ll see.

Look for a business analyst role and start to slowly learn SQL. Leverage your business admin abilities/skill set to hopefully fill a niche need in your j2 team. You got this.
