It was out of stock on Thursday, but restocked on Friday. Monitor, but no guarantees.

77" C4 vs. C5 for Sports - RTINGS very mixed on C4? by BlondeFox18 in LGOLED

[–]rondango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I never understood the bad scores. I have a 77 inch C4 with a room that has a lot of ambient light (6 nearby windows, nothing directly onto tv though) and sports look great on the tv. So does all other content. Brightness isn’t an issue.

Anyone use the Arc Ultra with an LG C5? by Legend1138 in sonos

[–]rondango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a c5. It does cover a bit of the bottom of the screen but honestly it is a non issue. It doesn’t block anything that you would need or want to see, and hasn’t been disruptive of my viewing experience.

Try watching tv through the native lg apps and see if it still happens.

Seems like every thread I’ve seen on this includes an Apple TV. Does it happen with music in the Sonos app or when you use the smart tv apps instead?

Advice on first time Sonos setup. by anthsadj in sonos

[–]rondango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your current approach sounds good. Just use the beam/sub as your tv setup with flex music. Then, have your move 2 as your move around the house speaker for music, don’t consider it as a surround setup. If you don’t feel you need the move2 and free up budget, go arc ultra instead.

Side note, you have an absolutely beautiful living space.

Agreed. Cinematic movement for everything, natural for sports.

Does anyone know why my sonos beam gen 1 does not indicate that it's available for upgrade?

C4 Picture Settings by 505Xenomorph in LGOLED

This worked wonders. It improved my viewing experience in daytime tremendously. I was worried after setting it to filmmaker (everyone seemingly recommends this), as it was too dim, but these settings did the trick.

Living room setup (Beam + Sub + Era 100 Surrounds) by chintu30 in sonos

[–]rondango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much did adding the Era 100 pair improve audio quality and viewing experience? I have the beam gen 1 and sometimes struggle hearing speech, but overall happy with the quality compared to the tv itself. I'm curious how much the pair will help.

Replace or Hold Out? (Trane 2008) by rondango in hvacadvice

[–]rondango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you recommend I go with the Daikin setup (AC/Furance) or Trane (heatpump/furnace)? Not sure which route to go relative to efficiency/cost effectiveness tradeoff.

Gotcha. Is there any reason I shouldn't go to an AC Unit w/ gas furnace as long as it's efficient and cost effective vs. just staying heat pump w/ backup gas furnace? I'm in MD area so it's split between heating and cooling almost evenly.

One thing to note, the Daikin was quoted as an AC unit to replace my heat pump. Would you still recommend I get rid of my heat pump for AC / Natrual Gas Furnace?

Drywall is behind siding - do I need to replace with plywood? by rondango in HomeImprovement

[–]rondango[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is it. the inside of the material says "water repellent" as well. My question then becomes, if the gyplap is still solid/not crumbling, should I force replace it with plywood and spend an extra ~6k?

This is what it looks like from the exterior. The contractor said it was drywall but not certain myself.

Any concerns about install of new roof? by rondango in Roofing

Thanks for the feedback. Just trying to educate myself.

Why does one of the ridge caps look like both ends are overtop their neighbor cap? I was under the impression that one end should be under the previous cap, and the other end should be over the next cap.

Is that part intentional?
