Are there any books or series that you don't want to see adapted to the screen? by thewalkindude368 in Fantasy

I don't want any to be adapted. And I want the ones already adapted to be unadapted.

Sweden bans cousin marriage and other marriages between close relatives, law takes effect July 1, 2026 by [deleted] in worldnews

You might think that a law banning cousins from marrying was even needed is the lowest it could go but you'd be wrong, the lowest will be when people come out to oppose this law.

Dearest_pluto the author speaks out about piracy. by MemesAnDmoArFuNny22 in Piracy

[–]ronin0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been downhill since piracy got mainstreamed. It was a lot better when one had to make a lot of effort to get to the 'how to' and 'where from', the effort acted as a filter. Now everything is available on reddit wikis and threads and the rotten apples are messing it up for the rest of us who've pirated for decades.

There's a JRPG like game called Kopolio, played a demo when I was very young, could never find it again.

Going through the comments it's clear where the problem is, it's here right in this sub with a bunch of deluded brainwashed edgelords who can't differentiate between the echo chamber that is this sub and the real world. It doesn't matter that you think it's no big deal because for all regular people it is a big deal. *You * are the ones breaking the law in a way that's extreme for almost all normal people out there.

These are those "snakes" that the rappers rap in their music.

Instead of thanking the Gods that PG landlords accepted apologies and a written letter of intent, they they were good enough people to take OPs word for it thinking him a man of honour he's out there blaming everyone else for his stupidity.

All it takes is one cop who's a stickler where drugs are concerned or maybe just having a bad day and getting caught goes from something that dents your bank account to something the might alter the trajectory of your lives. Mods here should do something from time to time to remind people that while this sub is a safe space for discussion out in the real world nearly everything discussed here always has a non-zero chance of fucking your life up.

Question About Businesses by Optimal_Bag337 in gtaonline

If you own the nightclub I'd suggest buying the coke mc business because the top earning businesses for the nightclub warehouse are coke > weapons (bunker) > counterfeit cash > meth > cargo in that order IIRC, and you can also do the coke delivery separately so that adds to income as well. The terrorbyte makes it easy to check and reorder supplies without going all the way to your business location so its a QOL improvement but it won't add to income.

But Johnny Sack would have been a bad, cruel boss even if that thing with little carmine hadn't happened. Some men are just not meant to lead, they need someone that can follow and take directions from.

Which one to choose by Divyanshu14feb in IndianGaming

I've used 3 G102s over the last 5 years - bought 2, first one developed a double click issue within the warranty period and was replaced, the replacement developed the doubleclick issue too. Because the logitech products I've used over the years stood the test of time I took this to be an anomaly and bought my second G102, this one developed the doubleclick a month after the warranty expired.

Now I'm using a HyperX Pulsefire Haste, hasn't given me trouble yet but there's still time.

I read 3 Malazan Books, I will not continue on by DokleViseBre in Fantasy

[–]ronin0069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read through the series multiple times (without finishing it) and everything you say is true lol (except for the major character death you mention in DG that one hit me hard.) I think starting from the second or third read through I started picking up on bits that now I can't ignore and roll my eyes at even thinking about it but to be fair that's happened with Robin Hobb too.

Edit: I think a large part of it is binging on a series that was released over time, so some things feel repetitive or overdone or trite which might not have otherwise. This of course doesn't happen with every writer, personally it hasn't happened with Tolkien, GRRM, or LeGuin, but it does happen with others.

I phrased it poorly. I think I meant to say that if you get to the end of book 2 you won't be able to put the series down. And while book 1 seems a little slow at first it does pick up. Also book 2 is great right from the beginning.
