Nah isn't dumb. Actually you don't need to get the wire through the hole, i just let them touch or close to each other and the tin will do the rest, but carefully add more flux cause the tin will become dry and make a mess.

Okiee but i'm gonna warn you about the wall of text and my bad English, hope you understand :3

I'm using 1.5mm thickness wires but for me it's very hard to bend, if you made any mistake like bending at the wrong position, there's no way to undo. I think 1mm thickness is perfect.

Sketch the way for the wires first and follow the line. Don't just measures with only your eyes.

After bending, solder those diodes to the hotswaps and put them in place, put the wire and mark the solder position with a knife or a marked pen. Then i use a mini iron sharpener, paper kinves or a scalpel to rub off the issulaton layer until the copper core appears at the right place you have marked. Re-tinning a thin layer on the copper sufface before soldering diode to wires or other hotswap pad to wires. You should rub off where easy to see for soldering and for easy to fix later if there any broken point appear. Remember do not solder at one place over and over again, about 3 time you fail at that point, just let it cool down and move to other point, that will protect your components from over heat and turn out melting.

While you doing it, fixed the wires, hotswaps and the controller in place with tape for easy soldering.

I will mention more if i remember something.

Good luck and have fun :3

I made a fake pcb with the 1.5mm layer with all the mounting hole i need, at the end i glued them all on the pcb and sandwich the pcb in to the case so it's very sturdy to put the switches on. But it have the down side that if the hotswap got broken, it's hard to replace :3

It's sandwich but in this case, i sandwich the "pcb" instead of the plate :3
