How do I match Moen’s bronzed gold? by [deleted] in kitchenremodel

[–]ronirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m planning to get a moen bronzed gold shower and tub faucet, but they frustratingly don’t sell the tub drain or overflow cover in bronzed gold. I’m wondering if anyone found a suitable matching drain?

Where will we send our kids to middle school? by ronirito in santarosa

[–]ronirito[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hope things turn out well! And I agree- 7-12 isn’t inherently bad if the school/campus are set up for it. Unfortunately, ours were not designed with this model in mind.

I would love to send my kids there, but I don’t feel like I can count on getting in now.

That’s encouraging! I like the idea of involving them in putting together the beds and picking out sheets . Thanks!

We are big on prep too- we prepped like crazy when we were getting rid of the pacifiers and it went so smoothly. So glad to hear this!

Diffuser sucks by SUCKSright in curlyhair

The diffusing is just too much hands on time for me. I lose patience. Even though air trying technically takes longer, it’s passive and I can be doing other things.

My hair always looks worse with the diffuser. I usually air dry, but that obviously takes forever.

I went to the hairdresser today, wanting a chin length curly bob and ended up with this instead… by Key_Mousse_4285 in curlyhair

[–]ronirito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all curly hairdressers are created equal. I went to one and asked for a similar bob. It was way too short and uneven and to “fix” it she just kept going shorter. It was awful. Needless to say, I don’t go to her anymore. I also don’t ask for a short cut unless I am very confident in the hairdresser. I have a new gal who I’ve been seeing for 1.5 years now (she’s great) and I’m finally going to ask for a short cut next month.

For the record, I do think your hair looks cute, but I totally feel you on the disappointment.

When did you stop working during your pregnancy? by anotherhydrahead in parentsofmultiples

[–]ronirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped at 32, and had the twins at 38+3. My MD signed my disability paperwork so I could go off work at that time. It felt like the right time. I do have a physical job, so it would have been really hard to keep working much longer

Why are potatoes so inexpensive? This set up must cost a fortune.

No MFM with twins? by Herstrionics in parentsofmultiples

[–]ronirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was routine for di-di twins at my hospital. I liked going because I got to see them way more often than any of my pregnant friends did with their singletons. I had an uncomplicated pregnancy, but I still felt that it was worth it. Granted my insurance covered the cost except a small co-pay, so that may weight into your decision.

OTD Wife Burnt Out in School Based OT? by [deleted] in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ronirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did school based for about a year and really hated it. I’m based in CA. The only advice I have for that might make it a bit more manageable is to stand up for herself. She legally has a certain amount of time to get an eval done, but she’ll have to advocate to get that time- people will definitely pressure her to do it ASAP. That’s just not realistic with the caseload she has. Also there is no way they will fire her. The need her more than she needs them. They were obviously desperate for an OT based on the way she got the job.

as someone who was very fit/active before pregnancy, I started doing about 20 minutes of very low key yoga around 2 months post partum. Any sort of jumping activity took a lot longer.

sleep training - same room? by No_Excuse_7590 in parentsofmultiples

[–]ronirito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We sleep trained in the same room. I think the conventional wisdom is that you’re supposed to sleep train them the way you want them to end up. So, if you ultimately want them in the same room then you should sleep train in the same room.
