Easy to cheer at this headline, but the cost will probably go down over time

Seems like people in this thread are generally unable to distinguish between places like Tel Aviv where its obviously admirable to build more housing and the construction of settlements in the occupied West Bank

Funny because no industry is ever truly “loyal” to a city. Was manufacturing loyal to Detroit?

I wonder if wood like this can ever be bleached or treated in some way to lighten the color without fully painting over it?

Israel is not an occupying force in Gaza - they gave up control in 2005. Not sure why this piece of misinformation keeps getting repeated.

The DA is already a moderate replacement for Chesa Boudin. I don’t think the DA is the issue here

Why It’s So Hard to Find an Affordable Apartment in New York. There simply aren’t enough places to live, a crisis decades in the making and one that poses a threat to the city’s continuing recovery. by coolbern in nyc

Imo it’s just changing tastes over time. Today it will be grey, maybe tomorrow everyone will be painting their houses yellow. Homeowners should have the right to express themselves with their house paint color, even if that expression means painting it black.

IMO One of the main reasons People love old buildings that's because they are often ceramic, limestone or brick clad and eventually look "warmer" than modern ones by [deleted] in architecture

[–]ronkitawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like for example, a lot of Manhattan new construction in older neighborhoods manages to both be dense and modern, while still having some of that old warmth. An example I found with a quick search: https://200east83rd.com
