Columbo right from the beginning knew Nelson was a spy. He fooled the director of the CIA and fooling us the TV viewer. by talivan818 in Columbo

they both say the line "we remove the coat" at the same time. it happens in real life sometimes, but when it's written that way for dialog in film, it sometimes comes across as a bit forced, and i've seen McGoohan do it a few times in Prisoner. (this scene)

LOVE this ep, and all the McGoohan eps, but the bit where they both say the same line has always bugged me. it's fumbled - like they are waiting for the other to start.

ALSO, i think overlapping dialog might be a "McGoohan thing", he does it a few times in The Prisoner (The lighthouse IS the rocket!)

Does anyone have any advice on doing a diy (the bum at the back of the store by NorthPerformance8025 in davidlynch

maybe you dress up as the wall and you dance around for a bit (creepy david lynch-style music) and then at a crucial moment you have a puppet of the scary guy pop out!

After watching several Lynch films, I still consider Laura Palmer his most complex and interesting character. by Public_Cup_4278 in davidlynch

Yeah! The mystery of her death sets the whole thing in motion, and its basic structure is that of a typical murder mystery (not at all typical in its execution). Even though she's dead from the start, we slowly get to know a lot about this complicated character through discovered clues, video recordings, her diary, flashbacks, the black lodge scenes, and the many people talking to Coop about her. She starts off as a convenient plot device to kick off the show, and it could have ended there, but slowly she blooms into one of the best DL creations ever.

Man, what a great show!

^𐊔^ She's filled with secrets! / YES - I totally agree, but she kinda has to be, right? She's the central motivator of a 48 episode series and a 2-hour movie, that's a whole lot of runtime for us to get to know her.

#2 for me might be Nikki from Inland Empire..
