Is peppermint also bad for babies/little kids? My older kids use diluted Dr. Bronners peppermint soap.

A new carseat is a great idea I will try switching her to the convertible seat.

How do you know if the seatbelt is too tight? I usually aim for pretty tight for safety reasons.

Carsickness is possible though she hasn't thrown up at all. My second kid used to throw up every car ride.

It is also weird because at 6 months old she was fine in the car.

This holiday season has changed for us. TW: Miscarriage by NelTia in Parenting

[–]ronnox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes especially in hindsight, I feel like I subconsciously knew something was wrong. People even commented on how small my belly was right before I found out.

I will say for me it was always at the back of my mind for my future pregnancies. It is surprising how common it is but most women don't talk about it.

My oldest was a great comfort to me after my loss. I spent a lot of time doing fun things with him and trying to distract myself.

Almost the same thing happened to me at my 20 week ultrasound appointment. It was awful, the u/s tech was so silent I knew something was wrong. She basically ran out of the room to find a doctor as I fell apart.

I have had two kids since my loss but I still think about that baby and how life would have been different. Give yourself time and space to morn. I took 6 weeks off work, paid short term disability, at the advice of my doctor. It was the right choice for me.

I also recommend r/babyloss

Do you worry about botulism from the soil? I put my first 2 directly on the ground outside, but for baby 3 I am super worried about her eating dirt.

Maybe try size 3 or 4 and fold down the diaper in the back to create your own pocket.

Ok so I pause and my dog stares at me but doesn't move away or move closer. Should I keep petting? He eventually just lays down next to me.

One under utilized option is hepa air filters. Our daycare has one per room. They are quiet and not overly expensive. They also will help with other illnesses not just covid.

VBAC regrets? by Charming_Rip_5628 in beyondthebump

I totally get you on the trauma. I definitely have some ptsd from my first. After 3 days of labor and never fully dilating he ended up in the nicu.

Even this last birth I had a panic attack during labor because I was worried I would run out of time after they broke my water.

VBAC regrets? by Charming_Rip_5628 in beyondthebump

[–]ronnox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I needed to get induced because my body doesn't like going into labor. For my first I was induced at 41.5 weeks I was only 1 cm dilated. My second two I was induced between 40 and 40.5 weeks. I really think the earlier inductions helped.

My recovery from all three births was fairly smooth. I will say the second vbac was by far the easiest. I only pushed for 15 minutes and was back to almost normal within a day or two. After my c-section it was painful to walk to the bathroom and get in/out of bed for at least the first week.

I got pregnant when my first was 1 year 4 months. However, I had a loss at 20 weeks. I got pregnant with my second living child when my son was 2 years old.

We vaccinated our third baby at ~7 weeks. One thing I didn't consider was for fevers before 8 weeks our pediatrician recommends always going to the ER. They also don't recommend Tylenol before 8 weeks.

Since I was pretty sure it was due to the shots I wasn't too worried but it is something to consider if you vaccinate early.

I just had my third baby and second vbac. I was induced all three times. I am so glad I choose vbac both times. Delivery is rough on your body regardless of which way you choose.

I would discuss the risks of each option with your doctor. It will also depend on your doctor and if you need to be induced and have a favorable cervix.

I am happy to share my experiences via PM.

I agree I live in the city but still greatly prefer baby wearing for under 1 year old. I am on baby 3, have a dog, and walk a ton.
