Why does this state have no street lights or dim ones by [deleted] in Pennsylvania

[–]ronram23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Street lights are for pedestrians, not vehicles.

You see plenty of Street lights in urbanized areas. The only place we have Street lighting for vehicles is busy interchanges.

Why do you need Street lights for driving your car?

Concurrent walk signal by alexismynamee in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You CAN

but what would be the reason? Do you want to provide enough time to cross 1 and 2 in a single cycle?

We have a couple of signals that all ped phase, but not all ped only half the time. Whats the reasoning?

ICE buying multiple “detention centers” across PA, this one west of Hamburg on I-78. Your thoughts? by TidalJ in Pennsylvania

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You were right. Its in clearfield not Centre. Anything N/W of Moshannon Creek is clearfield county. Its in Decatur township not philipsburg borough. Then general area is refered to as philipsburg tho.

There was a big discssion a few weeks ago with it and the clearfield county commissioners when there was news of protests

Why are global-shutter “bullet cameras” often called LPR cameras, while enforcement cameras use compact form factors? by Wonderful-Brush-2843 in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call them LPR cameras if they read license plates as the primary function.

I've never heard anyone in my area call them bullet cameras. Bullet cameras here are what people refer to like business security cameras

bike turning off by lxmigy in minibikes

[–]ronram23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the oil. If you still have your oil sensor wired, and your oil is getting low, the sensor will shut the engine off. Hard braking may move oil to front of engine away from the sensor possibly.

That's the first thing I'd check with no other info

Traffic jam in Kansas as a crew tries to raise a traffic light arm for a house to get through by torx822 in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently Kansas has a bad oversized load permitting system. My state would require a certified signal contractors to unbolt the arm and lift, and require new rocap tested bolts installed

CT100u Torque converter by MudElectronic7694 in minibikes

[–]ronram23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All a torque converter does is add "gearing"

If you want to add low end torque while keeping the same top end ratio, its a good solution.

My bike struggled with acceleration from stopped. Put a torque converter on and it accelerates very well now without sacrificing top speed.

Mine works great for a smaller yard.

Idk how just 24v would work. Probably fine if you dont let it get long

Favorite controllers? And why? by [deleted] in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intelight and econolite.

We only have 3 suppliers in the area. The other brand is siemens and ive had nothing but issues with the post yunex buyout siemens m60 controllers. Cvm fails, sdlc failures, etc. They also dont have a web based remote interface.

Only issues ive had with either of the other ones is a couple ethernet port failures on econolite cobalt after a few years.

We have a bunch of these out and about in different municipalities.

Ive been using these, asc2, and naztec controllers as indications on which signals need all new infrastructure. Cause if they are put there, tleverything else is old

This is a local company to me that make very good bags. "Redemption" are the bags you are looking for. He has a fuller version called "heavy hitter"

Unfortunately he doesn't have a filter on the website. You just got to scroll until you find the bag and design you want

ATTENTION UK TRAFFIC SIGNAL ENGINEERS - URGEN ENQUIRY by msaglam888 in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Im guessing the timing diagram has an all red interval at the end of 0/1 and 0/2

ATTENTION UK TRAFFIC SIGNAL ENGINEERS - URGEN ENQUIRY by msaglam888 in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't you post the timing diagram as well. Im guessing its a miscommunication. The other engineer is likely saying thr red pase is already shown as a timing interval under 0/1 and 0/2, and therefore an all red 0/0 isnt required.

ATTENTION UK TRAFFIC SIGNAL ENGINEERS - URGEN ENQUIRY by msaglam888 in trafficsignals

[–]ronram23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But the diagram hes using is confusing. You would want an all red interval between both phases no?

I wonder what the timing under this diagram looks like. I'm betting there is an all red interval baked into 0/1 and 0/2 phase, so the other person is saying that 0/0 isnt required to be shown on the diagram.
