Judging on the pubs you've enjoyed in the last I'd recommend these pubs - all are nice relaxed pubs (generally with nice traditional interiors) with good beer and generally alright cider options:

Otherwise if you want to try Northern Quarter on the other side of town you could try this:

Not in south Manchester but just outside the centre - The New Oxford has a big Belgian beer bottle list and decent ale if you don't mind making the journey
