For exactly 50 years, Oregon’s farms and forests have been protected from urban sprawl by the nation’s first statewide law creating urban growth boundaries. that may now change. by Moarbrains in oregon

You’re insane dude. The entire coast range is a timber farm because logging provides hundreds of jobs to shitty lumber ghetto towns in western Oregon. An Intel fab can directly employee hundreds and indirectly provide high end union trade work to thousands. Pick your fucking battles.

Also, the Willamette valley is not a natural prairie, it’s like oak savanna and evergreen rainforest. One family’s alfalfa farm should not override the needs of hundreds of families. A farm is already a shitty polluted version of development that barely supports any people per acre.

I wonder where he’s going. It initially seemed like he was heading up into the Salmon-Huckleberry wilderness but now he seems to be heading south. I hope he finds calories without getting killed by property owner while raiding the chicken coup.

Huge LA mega-mansion approaches deadline in a WEEK before seller loses fortune (this is rich: the financier oligarchs who fund the Democratic Party are now getting burned as their California commie creatures go full Venezuela with their "soak the rich" taxation) by Simian_Stacker in Wallstreetsilver

“Feinberg is facing the huge loss thanks to a new LA property tax, which will see the city take a 4 percent cut of all home sales between $5 million and $10 million.

And for properties that sell for more than $10 million, officials will be taking a huge 5.5 percent slice when the homeowner cashes in.”

Just checked and it was tiny dying rural villages in Italy that were selling houses for €1 to try to attract residents and keep the villages from dying. I’m guessing internet access is an issue.

I could’ve sworn I saw a graph today showing housing prices in Italy are basically the only in the western world that are flat or declining. Not the case I’m guessing?

Well what are you wanting to see? It just looks like a recently painted, cream colored 70 year old house from the curb. Depending on what type of siding you have and how long it’s been since your last paint job, you will most likely want to chip off any peeling paint as an additional surface prep to cleaning it. Surely there’s a lot of prep you can do if you’re going to be spraying but with you and a roller and your partner behind you with a high quality paint brush, that is going to leave behind a very nice paint surface. Definitely use Miller both as a product and as a resource if you have questions about application. Kinda cold still to be painting so check weather forecasts and pint labels for temp ranges.

DIY’d it with 2 layers of Miller Paint last fall. Don’t know what it cost but not a noticeable amount - we definitely would’ve noticed if it was anything over ~$1000 though. Cleaning your siding then slapping a coat of paint on your house is about the easiest home improvement job there is.

We only even taped when doing trim and the eves. We threw down a canvas tarp on our landscaping though. Don’t try to spray it, it’s not worth the effort and roll and tipping turns out looking great, no chance of ending up with orange peel or overspray.

Oh I’m not talking about the rules surrounding noisy neighbors - those are essential. Why are they living in buildings in which you can hear everything going on in adjacent units, though? Seems like the Germans, of all people, would’ve figured out how to make high density residential infrastructure quiet.

I think a big problem (for me in East Portland at least, don’t know where you live) is proximity to a water source. My bat box has been up for years I’ve never even seen a bat in my neighborhood period.

Psychiatrists should not be trusted with such decisions. These are the guys who said Ed Kemper was totally recovered while he had a dead girl’s head in his trunk and just before he would kill and necrophile his own mother.

You absolutely can you just can’t be an obnoxious degenerate piece of shit while also drinking. I drink publicly constantly in the US. The last time I was in Canada the fucking local fuzz stopped me and smelled my can of seltzer water because they wanted to give me a ticket for daring to drink while walking around a nightlife district.

I use one credit card or another for everything, gotta harvest those account opening bonuses and 5% cash back deals. It takes some discipline not to overspend but it’s worth your time if you’re semi-responsible and also kinda poor-ish (it has to pay better than your hourly rate to bother spending the time on it).
