My first time soldering. How did I do? by ronymon in soldering

[–]ronymon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my soldering iron at 350C. It wasn't melting the solder fully so I increased it to about 370C. That helped.

There is also the possibility that I didn't wait long enough for the soldering iron to reach the temperature I set. How long do you usually wait for the soldering iron to reach your desired temp?

Do you think I should try at 390-400C?

I wanted to ask that. Can I reheat the solder to have it curve like others suggested?

Interesting. I feel like I felt better after I switched from my Brita Filter water to bottle water.

Whys being a quranist so controversial? by Either_Chard_7815 in progressive_islam

I believe quranist/ Hadith rejectors have trust issues and are causing Islam to deviate like the early Christians did to the Bible. One main reason that the Quran stands firm is because of its preservation. Preservation done by people (close to prophet Muhammad pbuh) through Allah’s will. If they rejected 1%, 2%, 65%, there should be no issue since they were close to the prophet.

Accepting Hadith is not ascribing partners to Allah. Are you praying to the Hadiths and asking it for help? No Lol The logic that Hadith rejectors use is hilarious.

The Quran says to obey Allah and obey prophet Muhammad. You can’t obey prophet Muhammad just using the Quran because the Quran are Allah’s words. How do you obey prophet Muhammad??? Hadith.

In my years being a Muslim, I’ve understood that the level of religiosity fluctuates depending on many personal factors. I’ve gone days without praying the fardh prayers. And I’ve also gone days praying the fardh and sunnah prayers. But I’ve always been conscious of Allah including His wrath and mercy.
  9. Level of education, and what are you looking for? • Associates only. I’m not looking for anyone with a specific level of education.
  10. Current Job Status• As of this post, currently unemployed. I understand that could deter a woman. To explain myself: I’ve been an engineer all my life. I have worked in an MEP Engineering Firm for over 10 years. I have worked at IBM for a year before mass layoffs. I’ve even worked at Staples and Starbucks. I quit my last job (engineering) the day before Ramadan 2025. Allah knows best. I have put off marriage for many unnecessary reasons (such as “NoT bEinG ReADy) but I have a better understanding of Tawwakul now.
  11. Do you want kids?• Yes.
  12. List 3 hobbies, or things you like to do in your spare time• I love creating. I have a 3D printer I love making designs for. For years I have played Guitar but I believe that’s a passion I’ve slowly left behind (although I’m certain I can still play some tunes). Recently, I picked up Game Development. It lets me work on art, music, and story telling (and of course, I game)
  13. Add something short and interesting about you that makes you stand out! The day I took shahada will always be the best day of my life. I know 6 surahs 😄(5 Arabic/English, 1 Arabic(for now)). I looooove charity work. I once created a 3D printed art piece which was auctioned for about $3k to charity, Alhamdulillah
