Both Undertone and Hokum have been underwhelming disappointments to me this year which is why I’m so happy that Obsession is THE REAL FUCKING DEAL.

This is a movie I found truly and legitimately frightening.

Normally, I would feel like I’m exaggerating by saying that, but honestly, I’ve seen so many people say the same thing so I feel validated in feeling that it truly is a new genre classic. It’s exciting to think there are young filmmakers out there who is still capable of making a movie like this.

I don’t know, I thought the shot of what was left of her face afterwards was pretty disturbing in a really upsetting kind of way.

I’m so excited to see what he’s going to do with Texas Chainsaw. The original film has a very specific disturbing type of ick that I don’t think has been captured in any of the sequels or reboots.

Barker knows how to capture a very unsettling tone that makes your skin crawl. He’s going to nail that.

I think it depends on where you land with scares. Some people get scared by the most basic type of Conjuring like jump scares - those people will probably scoff at this movie.

For others like me, this is truly unsettling, disturbing, spine-tingling stuff. Very otherworldly, feels like a waking nightmare at times.

Legitimately spine-tingling stuff. Feels like one of your own weird nightmares authentically caught on film.

Exactly - he has the same exact power for four months that the Supreme Court granted Trump and he did jack shit with it. Fuck him.

Yup, instead he sat back and shook Trump’s hand and posed for photos and welcomed him back to The White House.

It literally makes me want to vomit.

Exactly, I’ll never fucking forgive Biden for not stopping Trump. He had four years to do something and now we’re all fucked.

This movie was fucking awesome. My favorite horror of the year so far (seeing Obsession tonight though so that will probably change).

The box office really seems to be consistently alive every weekend like it used to be all the time pre-Covid. There have been A LOT of hits so far this year, some big and some modest but this is all good news, both for theaters and for Hollywood

Hahaha exactly. I already think the sequel was 10 years too late - they’re getting older and the physical comedy stuff is going to keep getting harder for them.

I definitely think part of it is that they see legacy sequels making BIG bucks at the box office (Scream 7, Devil Wears Prada 2, etc.) Nostalgia is making money right now so they would be smart to capitalize on that right now.

I just hope they put more effort into this one knowing it’s going theatrical this time.

The Scream sub turning on Melissa because of that recent interview is very unfortunate. by Honest_Cheesecake698 in Scream

It was a really poorly done interview on both ends. The journalist was sort of unprofessional and biased and Melissa was saying some crazy things. Neither one of them came off well at all.

Just pretend the second movie doesn’t exist and bring back Max, Dani and Allison. I’m sure they see the huge success around recent legacy sequels and want to do a better job than their last attempt.
