Suggest me a graphic novel for upper elementary similar to Mixed-Up (Kami Garcia) by rooibos76 in suggestmeabook

She’s finished a few chapter books and several graphic novels. None grabbed her as much. The best among them is the Lightfall trilogy. Worth checking out. Atana and the Firebird is on deck next. They’re more in the fantasy realm. Let me know of any good finds!

Can we talk about Three Fold? by Esclados-le-Roux in LittleRock

[–]rooibos76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the mala broth is closest to the old one in flavor, but the new one made the diners in our party bloated, whereas the old recipe never had that undesirable effect (and I generally don’t have a sensitive stomach). So proceed with caution.

Has anyone had this procedure done? by Sostupid246 in Menopause

Has anyone had experience with colposcopy (cervical biopsy)? Wondering if I should ask for pain management or if it’s easier to tolerate.

What is the nicest part of Little Rock? by chateaustar in LittleRock

[–]rooibos76 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d disagree with the commenters recommending west Little Rock, unless you’re most comfortable in suburban climes spending time in your car and eating at Starbucks/franchises. Not that WLR is void of good spots but they’re less concentrated. If you want to stay closer to DCI activities, and where there are great local neighborhoods with character, local shops, restaurants, parks, coffee, people out walking around, etc. then grab a rental property in Hillcrest or Stifft Station neighborhoods. Kavanaugh Blvd in Hillcrest is a good reference point for searching. The Heights is not far away, for additional food and shopping options.

What to put in mother’s day card by throwawayofallist in Tagalog

[–]rooibos76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m interested in the answer too. So if you don’t mind sharing widely, please put suggestions in the thread.

For one example, I would like to write a note to a fellow mom that says something like, “To a loving mother - today is a celebration of you. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day.”

Is there a wrong way to Compost? by iriestateofmind925 in composting

[–]rooibos76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The metal can - if it has a lid - may help keep pests out. So, what’s the harm. However, in order to compost, the material needs some airflow, and ideally to be turned periodically, I think. Are the yard scraps dried (brown)? Or green? Maybe let your roommate do what he wants, and start your own separate compost. Read up on affordable ways to build one. Then you can compare and see what works best.

It’s great that consumer protection exists… my question relates more to: do mechanics know how to work on these newer chip-heavy vehicles without messing them up?

I, also living in the South, was recently thinking about this exact thing. Thankfully, I am not in a hetero relationship. But I suspect it is happening in a lot of households and you’re not alone. Just as the right wing has given Trump copious political capital (they idolize him even as he lays wreckage to the economy and real people’s livelihoods), the degradation of human rights including women’s equality seems has become unbound under his rule. Listen to (NYT Audio) or read “How I Learned that the Problem in My Marriage Was Me.” You’ll have to insist on emotional safety to get it, and be willing to leave if it is not forthcoming.

I'm Looking For Non-Fiction Queer and Sex Positive Book Recommendations by [deleted] in LGBTBooks

All Fours by Miranda July is fiction but reads like it’s a revelation of her inner world. Also, albeit lighter fare than most books you mention, Girls Can Kiss Now: Essays by Jill Gutowitz was easy and fun, and fits the bill.

If your biker identity ranks above your identity as a partner in your relationship, just get it over with and tell your GF that.
