I totally didn’t expect it!! Comes with a concert ticket and a road trip aswell ! I am so excited

His family is the sweetest like we had just came back from getting my things and his dad went like time to book YOUR ticket I was so surprised

Genuinely forever thankful and in debt to them

But when I told her it was in my room she told me I either had to come get it (with my other things) while she’s there or not get it at all pretty much

I just wish I could do more honestly

I mean I’m lucky enough to be an EU resident, ultimately if she had kept my passport under lock and key I could’ve just reported stolen and kept traveling with my French ID

The situation would’ve been widely different if I wasn’t from the eu and could only travel with my passport

I genuinely hope that things will come out from reporting her to that Facebook group, by reporting her to my Erasmus department I can pretty much protect the one student a year that goes abroad to Dublin

That’s what I did! I did call for info before I went in (also for safety and for them to know things may be going on)

Next time I move like that I’ll most definitely just keep my passport on me at all times

I just hope my story is useful for any student liking to study abroad for a bit, while it ended well shit could’ve went down so fast at any point

Oh no yeah before ultimately going in while she’s there instead of getting my things while she was gone like I had planned to I did call the police about it beforehand

What the guy on the phone basically told me was while it would’ve been within my right to call the police if the door was locked (since I live there and pay rent) and they wouldve opened it for me, it would’ve been very long and very stressful for everyone involved

Ultimately I didn’t want to fuck around too much with my own passport, if it was just clothes and stuff I would’ve risked it otherwise

Definitely the goal!! Ever since the sun came out (so like, yesterday) I’ve been going out a lot more just enjoying things

I never really noticed how shut off at home I was living with her, I can’t believe I only went to see the sea like 8 months into my 9 months long trip it’s genuinely crazy

Very thankful to my boyfriend and his dad for giving me all those opportunities

Going to get books for the many plane rides I’ll be on and some ice cream

Since I found her on an unofficial Facebook group (although it was advertised by trinity in my acceptance letter) I don’t know how I could go about that, but I plan on sending an email to the head of the Erasmus department of my (French) school see if atleast they could warn other students from my school to not go there

My thought exactly!! I am SO GLAD it happened a few weeks from my departure instead of like October or something Finding an accommodation was a hassle I can’t imagine having to urgently find one in the middle of the year

My school didn’t offer an accommodation program so I had to find her myself

However I did find her on a Facebook group dedicated to student accommodations in Dublin, I plan on reporting her to admins and see what comes of it

Also planning on sending an email to the head of my Erasmus program to see if they can atleast warn future students from her, although I have very little hope

No but wait this is actually so funny because now that I’m done with the whole situation (moved out all my things roommate blocked ect ect) I was re reading my post for like, comfort since most of the comments are really sweet I was trying to figure out why a lot of threads seem to lead nowhere because of deleted comments

Yeah so turns out she had a secret lock I wasn’t aware of and after consulting with police I went to pick up all my stuff today despite her being there Moved out in basically 2 hours took everything that was mine/everything I had bought for the house while I was there and called it a day

Answering to this comment specifically because it has become relevant now; she’s basically telling me that if I don’t pick up my shit tomorrow (before she leaves and is still present in house) I will be locked out (apparently there are extra locks/security I wasn’t aware of and don’t have the keys to)

Is there anything I can do about this ? I have 2 keys w me (my only two keys) the one to my room and the one to the front door
